Hampton Inn Harrisonburg - South

"Never stayed at a worse Hampton Inn. No mini fridge (so the soda pop I had to pay $4 for in the lobby got hot by morning), no microwave, no exhaust fan in bathroom so you gotta wait for steamy mirror to defog on it’s own, woke up with the worst backache from the bed, and don’t even get me started on breakfast. Hardly any bacon left at 7 am and what was left were more like bacon bits- and more grease than bacon! It’s obvious there was no straining of the grease happening in the kitchen. Potatoes tasted like pure dish soap! Like they fell in a soapy sink of dish water and put in the server for people to eat. No that’s putting it mildly. I think they ran out of oil to fry them in so they used dish soap. Seriously. I mean I could not taste anything but soap!!! No waffle batter so I couldn’t make a waffle and oatmeal was nasty like rubber. I was determined to eat a hot breakfast so even though it came included in my overpriced stay, I left and paid for breakfast elsewhere. Oh and let’s not forget about the stains all over the carpet that look fresh like they didn’t even try to get them out. Pet stains I’m assuming. The only plus is it’s easy on/off from the interstate, but so are several others. I will opt for one of the others next time coming through. Never again will I stay at this Hampton in my travels. I might have done better at the Motel 6. It’s a shame. I usually like Hampton Inns. Very disappointed."

"This is what you expect from a Hampton inn. We have been at a few lately that we’re not up to expectations and this one was. Basic, clean, friendly, breakfast as expected, wifi as expected, but not a fancy hotel. We Even used the pool this time, we have been to this one before. We will stay again. Quiet one. We had new puppy we were traveling with and there was a nice big field next to the hotel property which also had nice grass without trash so worked great for us."

"The place is nice but the service is so so. We book a room and the door is not working. The attendant said it's low battery, and maintenance will fix it tomorrow morning. It's a hassle going outside and coming back just to call her so she can open the door instead of transferring us to a different room. Another thing when we ask if if there's a microwave, she said the other room we book have one but none at all. It's kinda frustrating your saying one thing and it not there. She even told us maintenance will fix the door by 6am. It's already 9 and no one came it yet. It's so inconvenient."

"We stayed here as it is a pet friendly hotel. The rooms are very clean, though not brand new and it is very close to the interstate with gas stations close by. They provided a decent breakfast to go since we left before the regular free breakfast started. Desk clerk was helpful in recommending restaurants for take out."

"Has not been renovated but is SO well kept and clean. Beds seem more comfortable than the other Hampton Inns we've stayed at recently. Front desk staff was swamped but they took it all in stride and were so friendly. As long as they're pet friendly this will be our regular spot to stop."
