"My 2 year old has a surgery scheduled NEXT Thursday, a week from today, and I’ve been trying for 4 days to get ahold of someone at the office for instructions on what to do before the surgery. It has taken months to get someone on the phone let alone Greg who is the surgery scheduler. He was supposed to send me an email with everything we needed to do and has yet to do that. I’ve now been on hold for 30 minutes waiting to talk to someone. Their hours are not their actual hours and they are not open when they say they are. I will be driving up there today to speak with someone in person."

"Generally, I don’t trust review culture and I very rarely contribute. My 19 month old was referred to Dr. Dorofi after two CHKD quick care visits and a stop at our pediatrician. All three of these appointments revealed that our son had impacted earwax in both ears to the extent that they could not see past it. The referral was for an ear “cleaning.” Dr. Dorofi condescendingly let me know that “sure, there’s a little wax” and, instead of attempting any removal, sent him off for a hearing test. Test was indicative of either fluid behind the ears and/or wax buildup (I only know this from sharing results with another ENT). Fast forward one month to CHKD for another ENT appointment where they let us know there was “significant” wax in his ears. So much so that they spent twenty minutes cleaning them out and could not flush it all. Another hearing test failed and surgery was recommended for further earwax removal and potential eartubes. After surgery, the surgeon used the term “an impressive amount of wax” within the ears. Long story short, probably a fine adult ENT but I would not recommend him for parents with small children (though the practice is involved with CHKD). If you find yourself having to see him, advocate for your kid(s) using the information given to you from the referral that led you there. Two stars as he had a good sense of humor and I’d probably have a beer with him - just not let him mess with my kid’s ears."

"This place was recommended to me by the doctors office only because CHKD was so booked. First off they called and cancelled our appointment when we were on the way literally 20 minutes before our arrival time. Secondly came our second appointment, it felt so rushed by rushed I mean the doctor talked like I was at an auction. Not very informative. Lastly they said someone would call within a week to schedule surgery. It took them two months to finally call! I explained to the gentleman that I didn’t feel comfortable with the office and went with CHKD. He told me that apparently the surgery scheduler no longer works there and they were playing catch up. I mean what a joke of a practice. Would highly recommend if your taking your child somewhere wait for CHKD!!!"

"We had an appointment for our toddler. Everyone was absolutely delightful as well as helpful. Dr Hood was friendly, receptive, and it felt like he listened, as well as the woman who conducted the hearing test. They made what could've been a scary experience for our toddler incredibly pleasant."

"My daughter has been a patient here since she was a little under a year old. We came back today to have her checked for a few reasons. The front clerical staff were extremely helpful in the paperwork process. Dr. Schroyer has not seen my daughter in a little over three years and still remembered her. This man has great bedside manner! Our analyst, Nancy, was attentive and patient in explaining everything she was going to do to my daughter and myself. The visit, while not overly long, was thorough. All of my concerns were addressed. I left with no confusion or doubt. When it comes to your child, that’s the last thing you want to leave a medical appointment feeling. I’ve never had bad service or long wait times with this practice. While they do have a branch in Great Bridge, our provider does not work out of that office. I’ll still do the 25min commute to see him out of their Kempsville office any day. I’m thankful for this team and the consistency in the quality of care given."
