"Social services told me to call 211 (NO FUNDS) DIRECTED ME TO FOR KIDS OR WHATEVER AND THEY DIRECTED me back to 211"
"First let me say this,,For kids Shelter it self meaning building is a very amazing place. However the staff there has NO compassion and really aren't "truth full" ."
"I was supposed to write this a long time ago..but the folks at 4kids ... Amazing! They are my heros and I pray that they will never stop their work for the community."
"Back in 2016 my husband, baby and myself went to this organization asking for help to get housing. We were under the impression it would be something like government housing. They had us sign up for an apartment we couldn’t afford thinking they would help. We got evicted two months later because we couldn’t afford car, rent, utilities, food, baby essentials all at once. We had moved from cities at the time and we hadn’t been approved for food stamps or childcare so only one of us could work. Wished we would’ve stayed in shelters instead."
"Went recently to an eviction prevention information clinic run by ForKids, and scheduled a video chat appointment to speak one-on-one about options. However, for some reason the person I was supposed to speak with called instead, which meant I missed it (since my iPhone silences strange numbers). I was in the video chat early on the other hand, and left waiting. Tried calling back multiple times, but only received voicemail messages. How can I trust an organization if they can't even be reached or made available? **Update 4/26 12:37** Finally got a call back....only to be told they wouldn't help prevent my eviction because there's no guarantee I'd be able to pay the next month. Tried explaining that I just needed the time (bought by paying that back rent) so I could get things settled/taken care of."
