"Great campground. Friendly, knowledgeable staff. Campsites are selected on a first come, first serve basis---so you get to pick your own site, but that might be a better deal arriving at 3pm vs 9pm. Restrooms and facilities were clean and well-maintained. Walk down to the river was pleasant. Great time exploring trails by river. There is access to a large pond for fishing/birdwatching/hiking as well."
"The tent sites were not well organized when we arrived, the poor front desk attendant was left not knowing who was occupying which sites so we were referred to 2 areas that were a little more secluded which we appreciated since she did know there was Boy Scouts around. The sites themselves are spacious with a fire ring, charcoal grill and picnic table. Bathrooms were decent but the showers were very dark and filled with so many bugs that I didn’t even use them. As advertised, service is spotty at best, very random when I would be able to receive or a send a text. Make sure you have everything planned before arriving as you won’t be able to Google nearby food, shops etc. The front desk had a magazine with places listed but hard to pick a place when you can’t see menus or reviews when we were rained out from our camp dinner. Google has a picture of a beach my friend and I couldn’t find granted we didn’t ask the front office for directions, we followed the 1/3 mile trail to the river that was advertised on the camp map we got. The trail splits with no signs on where to go so we went left and stumbled across what looked like a homeless site so took a few pictures of the river before heading back hoping we didn’t disturb whoever was occupying the area. It was a beautiful view of the river, just wish the trails were better marked and maintained. It rained during our stay so was unable to take advantage of the water recreation available on site. I would be interested in coming back for a canoe trip but a little disappointed about the showers advertised. Most campsites that I’ve stayed at with showers and bathroom has them in the men’s and women’s bathroom not separate closet looking rooms for common use. If you can get past the creepy feels of the shower, overall a nice campsite for the price."
"Had a great time at Camp Outback. We left out late Friday after work and was not going to make it in time for someone to show us out campsite or buy wood for a campfire. This is when Losa came through for us. She left three bundles of wood in front of the store for us and told us that we were welcome to pick any empty spot. Thanks Lisa! The site was perfect! Tucked in the back perfect for our motorcycles to be out of sight. The grouds were well kept so we're the showers and bathrooms. I highly recommend this place to anyone or family looking to spend some time near Shenandoah."
"This was the best camp ground to date. Easy access. Nice bathrooms. Showers are good. The camp ground was great but we did get the best one. No staff harassing us. The small store had anything we needed. Firewood and ice for sale. Just had a great time and the camping spot was great. No cell service but I liked that. Easy access to the river. Rafting down the river with camp ground raft was horrible due to shallow river so don't waste your money on that."
"We stayed at this campground in September of 2014. We have never been down to the area before and really weren't sure what to expect, but we LOVED it there. It was everything to love about camping. The facilities were nice, bathrooms were clean and the showers were hot. We had just a great time that we are booking another trip here in October 2015."
