"This hidden gem might be one of my new favorite spots ever. My fiance and I visited after a friend recommended Welbourne, and I can't say enough wonderful things about our stay. From the moment we stepped inside, we felt right at home. Highlights included lounging in front of the fireplace, reading through Welbourne's history in the library, Joyce and her wonderful cooking, exploring the grounds, and all the sweet pups running around of course! Rebecca and her team put so much love, care, and preservation into the home and it shows. We're already planning our next trip back."

"This magical place was the perfect getaway for my family reunion. 20 of us filled every room and ate up every breakfast sausage. We loved our three nights of evening cocktails on the rambling porch, board games, and ghost stories. For connoisseurs of American history and portait art, this place is a treasure trove. Guests who appreciate creaky wooden floors, gorgeous antiques, wood burning fireplaces, and a free range donkey will be in heaven here. Each room is unique and sleeps two people."

"We immensely enjoyed our visit. Rebecca was an attentive and kind hostess. This was my second stay here. We walked the fields and were greeted by the many horses retired there. This is a tranquil place, with historic significance. We relished our quiet time in the library, reading about its history. We also enjoyed the open bar in the parlor. The entire Inn was open to us to explore. This is a grand house surrounded by an unsurpassed beautiful countryside. We’ve lived in Germany and traveled extensively. Welbourne is one of our favorite choices for a blissful getaway."

"Welbourne is a magical place that has a little something for everyone: it’s cozy, chock-full of history, and has ample land for a stroll (don’t miss the horses!). We also enjoyed the complimentary happy hour and delicious homemade breakfast. Not to mention that Welbourne is only minutes away from Middleburg with restaurants, shops, and antique stores. What stood out the most though was that Welbourne felt like a home away from home. The owners have gone to great lengths to preserve their family’s history 250+ history and we were delighted to learn all about it from one of the owners, Rebecca. My mom and I just spent a weekend during our visit to Shenandoah but we got more than we bargained for and cannot wait until our next trip to Welbourne!"

"We loved staying in an authentic country home that has stayed within a single family for many generations. It felt as if history decided to stop there and never leave, from the books in the library to the jazz 78s in the music room waiting to be discovered. Even the weekend breakfast was served from heirloom silver dishes. We loved sitting on the veranda in the evening in perfect serenity gazing over the country meadows, listening to the chirping birds, feeling a light breeze, and reading a book while enjoying a glass of wine. We will be returning to Welbourne!"
