"I went in for an updo for a holiday party and came in with a picture of what I wanted (a low bun with a braid and curls; see pic I showed her below). My hair is below my shoulders, so this is not a case of not-enough-hair-to-do-the-style. The stylist was nice and said she could do the style, but did not follow what was in the picture. She had to redo it 2x because she "didn't notice" the braid the first time around or understand that there were some curls as well. I asked if she needed me to make the picture bigger and/or brighter a few times and she said "no." Also, the updo was lopsided several times and she ignored me. She also loaded on the gel and hairspray (yikes!) on the tiny wispy hairs on my neck and bangs to make them curl without any heat, leaving my hair super crunchy. I finally asked her to stop and that I just wanted to leave. It looked awful and felt like I was wearing a helmet. I ended up washing it out and doing a simple bun. Bottom line: this is not a modern salon. They do not seem to know how to do any style that is not slicked back with gel and sealed with Aqua Net."
