"We were so impressed with how well the maintenance staff handled snow clearing during this last snow storm. Their effort and hard work made a seamless experience for the residents and it was by far the best snow clearing and ground maintenance I've seen at any of the places I've lived. Also the process for applying and moving in was painless. Rosemary did an amazing job making us feel at home from the getgo."
"The staff in the office went above and beyond our expectations. We applied for an apartment with no hope of actually being able to get one. To our dismay, we are now residents. They looked at my wife and I as hard working human beings and looked passed a discrepancy in our past and gave us the break we needed and deserved. Rose Marie will always be an angel in our eyes!"
"Horrible experience, had to buy out the lease agreement just of be able to get out of that place. Poor management and maintenance upkeep of the rental complex. Everything is rusting and rooting away at this apartment & townhomes rental property. I do not recommend Bishops View Apartments. July 1, 2023, we moved into 2395 Route 70 West, Cherry Hill, NJ 08002 Apartment complex. At first glance the apartment seemed fair, but the lingering odor inside was unpleasant. We decided to vacuum the apartment because we felt debris while walking around underneath our feet. So, we did and when finished we vacuumed in three full canisters of pet hair, dust and different kind of debris. Obviously, the carpet was not cleaned even though we were promised that the carpets would be cleaned and shampooed before we move in. It turned out after investigating that the unpleasant smell was coming from carpet that was saturated with pet urine. Since July 4 was coming up there was no one present in the apartment office, and we could not communicate our concern. My husband and I decided to hire carpet cleaning service our self and clean the carpets in hope that the unpleasant odor could be resolved. Number one reason for doing the cleaning ourselves was because we could not wait any longer since we needed to move out from our previous apartment. Earliest we could schedule cleaning was on July 5. We were advised to wait at least 8 hrs. for carpets to dry before moving in the furniture. The next day July 6, we inspected the condition of the carpet and realized that the carpet did appear cleaner, but the odor was still present. The next day I requested the pet treatment cleaning, that they offered to us, which constituted of pulling up the top layer of the carpet and spraying the bottom layer with same kind of chemicals. The fumes from the chemicals made the entire situation even worse. The urine smell was still present but now mixed with chemical fumes. Finally, we were offered new carpets which were scheduled to be installed on July 14 but carpets were not installed because it was not communicated to us that electronics were our responsibility to move. At this point we felt that we don’t have the desire to live in the complex that treats their tenants this way and requested to break our lease without paying penalties. Our main concerned was that even if the carpets were replaced the odor will still be present in the walls and floorboards . Another issue we had was the constant humidity level in the apartment at or above 70%. We came to realize that the present rust all over the metal objects in the bathroom was the result of this high humidity. Again, this is another example of poor maintenance issue. As time progressed our breading felt oppressed. We purchased a dehumidifier to alleviate our respiratory discomfort knowing after doing some research that anything higher than 60% is a health hazard. The dehumidifier could not decrease the humidity because apparently the ventilation system in the unit is not functioning properly. Again, another example of poor management and maintenance. Monday July 17, 2023, the management came into our apartment with the black light to inspect if there were any evidence of pet urine. Urine was present all over the apartment. After all of this, we were not granted to break the lease. Instead, we were told that management will forward this case to their attorneys. Instead of being compensated for, we had to pay two months’ rent worth costing us around $4,000 just to be able to move out without any liabilities toward our landlord. The conclusion from my personal experience is that this apartment complex is poorly managed. The entire complex at closer look is rotting and rusting away because the maintenance personal is not doing their job properly. In addition to foul pet urine odor, the whole unit smell rancid and stale. Instead of checking the condition of the unit before moving in and replacing the carpet we were put through a terrible ordeal."
"My partner and I love living here! We’ve had great luck with the new electronic locks and find them very convenient. The apartment is spacious and was relatively well-kept when we moved in and the staff is very helpful and friendly! They even host community events at least once a month which often involve free food, and the property has an online rewards system which is fun to play along with. It can be a little tricky to find parking late at night, the stairs at our building are a little rusty, and it can take a little time for maintenance to respond to requests but these are minor inconveniences that do not affect how much we love living here."
"I am a current resident who moved here in 2022. My overall opinion is the apartments are not quite worth the rent and the fees. Upon moving in, I had numerous water leaks. Literally almost daily between our bedroom and small hallway. I had asked if they could replace all of the pipes around water leak 5-6 and was told no. After having a breakdown in the main office, they finally conceded to replacing all of them and Chris and Devon were great in that process. But, I will say now our ceiling is patchy from the replacements. Maybe we’re just more aware of where the holes were though. We also had our dryer, freezer, oven and garbage disposal break in our first few months of moving in, and yes while these issues have all been rectified the apartment was not worth the 2,000 plus a month that we pay. Eventually, I was able to argue a small (500) credit from Morgan when in reality we should have been comped more. We pay 60 monthly for subpar amenities which total 720 for the year when the newer apartments next door charge a yearly 500. We pay 25 monthly for trash pickup which totals 300 for the year and the trash pick up is never on a consistent schedule so my fiancée and I take it ourselves to avoid having the squirrels break into the bag and spread the trash. There is not enough parking for residents unless you want to pay an additional 30 per month for a reserved spot. I refuse based on principle. For what we pay monthly plus all of the other charges, we should not pay an additional 360 a year to park at a property where we already pay over 2,000 per month. If you park in a reserve spot, you run the risk of being towed so it’s essentially hunger games out there for available spots after a certain time of night. And, while everyone at the office and in maintenance have been very nice, I find that we do have to repeatedly reach out about issues. Sometimes our maintenance tickets are closed when I know that they were not addressed, I will reach out and everyone has an explanation ready, but it doesn’t help build trust between the residents and the team, and I have to manage a department at my actual job, I don’t want to micro manage my living situation. I do think most of my issues mentioned in this review are with the company Morgan and not with the individuals working in the office. I know the staff at Bishops View are limited in what they can do based on the company itself. My advice to you if you have read this far is to explore your options. I will concede that overall the property is fine but is it worth the price? I can’t confidently say it is and with all of the nickel and diming it can add up. Best of luck on your housing journey!"
