"THIS PLACE IS A SCAM DO NOT MOVE IN HERE!!!!!!! I signed a lease after being shown a recently renovated apartment in the complex and was led to believe it would be the one I was moving into. Fast forward to move in day I am given keys to an entirely different unit that didn’t even share a floor plan. The place had not been cleaned recently, there was mold in all the rooms, layers of grease on everything in the kitchen, and the windows were literally broken off of their track and laying on the floor. After reaching out to management they told me they had no control over the tour that I was given and it wasn’t their fault the unit wasn’t the one I was shown. I literally signed a lease with the address of the other apartment. I finally had to threaten legal action for false advertisement in order to be released from the lease. It also took them over 30 days for them to return my security deposit and had to yet again threaten legal action to receive it. DO NOT MOVE IN HERE!!!!!!!"
"Terrible management. Rude staff The manager Shawn does not bother to respond to any communication. The staff has been so rude and harassing, no response whatsoever from management when this was complained about. The receptionist Oliver is rude and entitled. my apartment was broken into and instead of investigating this Shawn basically started defending his staff. I had to call the police to investigate because I felt unsafe. Terrible apartments. Mice and bugs are everywhere. Kitchens are tiny. Mold and water leaks. Trash chutes don't work. Terrible 'amenities'. Laundry room is extremely dirty and multiple machines are always out of order. Several machines in gym have been broken for months. Extremely loud noise and no sense of respect in 'study areas' - loudest noises come from front desk staff. Thrown away weed and cigarettes in the outdoor spaces. The floors are so disgusting they are never waxed or cleaned. Elevators do not work half the time. Enter the building and you will notice the unkempt miserable state- dirty floors, one disgusting bench stained black in the entry, all packages thrown around front desk in chaos, filthy and wornout flooring in elevators. Read the rest of the reviews and stay away from this place for your own safety and wellbeing Cherry on top, they will not let you end the lease so it will be too late if you move in."
"A pipe bust and the apartment was filled with mold while my roommate and I were away for a month. The building new of this and didn’t tell us, and said it was totally fine living conditions even though all of our furniture was covered in mold, the floors were ruined, and soooo much more damage. They were very rude and disrespectful throughout this whole process and not willing to work with us."
"I have lived in the apartments for almost a year now and I have to say that I've had a good experience living here. The apartment is spacious with panoramic windows. I get plenty of natural lighting, I have an upgraded kitchen, and wooden floors. I get compliments on my apartment all the time. The staff: leasing office, security, and maintenance crew are always so nice and helpful. The location is convenient and right next to SEPTA broad street line subway. There are grocery stores, movie theaters, and restaurants within walking distance. The downfalls are that it gets really cold in winter and hot in the summer, so an AC unit and space heaters are a MUST in every room. Additionally, you can't have 2 high-power appliances turned on at one time or power outages occur. They also have a broken elevator which they still have not fixed since I lived here. Of course, these downfalls are because the building is so old. Other than those few discreptancies, the management does a good job with the up-keeping such as monthly extermination and next-day maintenance repairs. Update to review: I lived at this residence for 2 years. Although I loved living here and still agree with most of the things above. I had to drop a star because the new management gave me the hardest time returning my deposit when I moved out. They were only trying to give me a portion of what I was owed because they stated that’s what I paid. They gave me paperwork to show all of my payments and lot of it had errors. It was a lot of back and forth and it took months for them to return my money. They were messing with the wrong person because I saved EVERY receipt and had copies of EVERY check I made out to them. Please please I advise you to save your receipts and all of your paperwork. Luckily I had proof that I gave a full months rent of the deposit. The change in management from when I left completely changed. Given the other reviews I read about the deposit, I think they use it as a money grab from residents. Be careful."
"I loved in this apartment summer 2017-summer 2018. The location is great, there is a lot of natural lighting, apartments are pretty spacious, and there is laundry on site. Other than those things, it's not great. You can't use multiple appliances at the same time or you'll trip a fuse. The kitchens are barely functional, with no space to do anything. They can't manage the temperature, so it is 80s in the summer and nearly 50s in the winter (yes that's illegal). There are tiny bugs in the corners of the apartment and mice periodically. Lastly they don't return your security deposit in a timely manner. I moved out June 30 and legally, should have received my deposit by July 30. I called every week, multiple times a week until I finally received the deposit in mid-September. But of course, the check was dated July 30. Ashley was very helpful during the process and I would recommend asking for her. Lori Kim is rude and doesn't respond to emails or calls regarding anything past moving in. It is a little expensive for the fact that the kitchen is terrible and heating/cooling is almost unlivable some days, but overall isn't too expensive. I paid $910 for a 1 bedroom, it was probably worth $800 ? Comparatively, Apartments at 1220 is less expensive for the area and square footage."
