"I would also like to second Hannah’s review of the Vale. My refrigerator also doesn’t open all the way. None of the amenities that were promised have been completed. I guess you can count the roof top, but I remember that they posted photos of a beautiful rooftop with outside furniture but quickly it was removed from their listing to be replaced with lawn chairs…also the lobby is not at all what they advertised. Joe, the property manager, is responsive. I like him. But we don’t know when the parking lot, the gym, the lobby that was promised, will be finished. It’s like once all the units were filled, all the construction stop or is EXTREMELY slow."
"I wanted to love the Vale. The biggest redeeming positive for me is the lack of pests in my unit. I question how long that will last considering the trash room is not properly managed and emptied. One of the reasons I chose this apartment is for the “gym” that they advertise having. During my tour, I asked the agent about the gym and the agent said “it will be done by the end of summer!” It is November and it hasn’t even started to my knowledge. You’d have better luck renting with the other new apartment building on our block. Their fitness center is finished and looking great. The apartment was not finished with care. The lock on my door did not work and would not stay locked because the door had not been installed in place. Maintenance had to come and fix the alignment of the door so that my lock could lock. And my fridge does not open all the way because of how they installed it with the cabinets. I still cannot open the bottom two fridge drawers more than an inch or so. Communication with management is sub par. They sent me an email threatening to shut off power if I didn’t change PECO to my name, when PECO already had been in my name for a month. YET, when I texted to inquire about the “fitness center” there was no reply or update. Despite paying an arm and a leg in rent and water, the bath water barely stays hot before running cold. The deep soak tub is lovely but pointless if the water doesn’t stay warm to fill it. Lastly, expect to smell everyone’s dinner and hear personal conversations happing on the other side of the very thin walls. It must be the vent system but I regularly smell food being cooked in neighboring apartments. Not that big of a deal for me personally but worth a mention. None of this is terrible. But, for the price, I expected more."
"Love a new building!! It's always so great when you're one of the first tenants to occupy a unit knowing that it hasn't had extensive use - and that every thing is fresh just for me! Fresh paint, appliances, everything. Also the agent who helped me was really really nice."
"“Lux” is a funny term to use with these new erector set apartments. Shoe box living and forced to pay amenity fees on top of the outrageous price. Let’s be real these places are built for half the price of a normal bldg yet they cost way more. Screw these out of town developers trying to turn a max profit by scamming Philly residents"
