"NTB in Lutherville - A total lack of professionalism. Abysmal customer service. I had an appointment a few weeks ago at the Lutherville store to find and fix an issue with my steering. They had it for 5 days, and said they replaced the struts, yet my bill mentioned labor for brakes. The brakes were fine and did not need to be replaced. As soon as I left the place after spending over a thousand dollars my car sounded like it was about to fall apart every time I hit a bump on York Road. I went back to the Lutherville store for warranty work the next day and was told by the manager (the only employee there) that not a single employee scheduled showed up and that he was called in on his day off. He turned away at least 2 customers while I was waiting, and he said that he'd call the Towson store and have them do the work under warranty. I then drove to the Towson store hoping my car wouldn't fall apart on the way and when I arrived, the manager (also the only employee there) had no idea I was coming and never received a call from the Lutherville manager and gave me the same story. No employees showed up at this location and since the repair was done by the Lutherville NTB, it's not his problem (actual quote). It has become apparent that since NTB was taken over by Mavis, things are rapidly declining. According to scuttlebutt overheard at the Lutherville store, Mavis has cut employee wages by $7/hour and most of the certified/competent employees have quit. They no longer do background checks nor drug test their new employees. They said that the new hires show up stoned/drunk and are not well-trained. Even the managers have had their wages cut by Mavis. I went back due to terrible grinding noises and when I picked up my car it was no longer making the noise. Upon further investigation, it was because the "technician" wrapped shop rags secured with zip ties to stop the noise. The manager was supposed to refund my card and as of 11/2 has not done so which is why I am now putting the word out that they do not stand by their work or honor their word."

"Ran into to store last minute before closing with a nail in my tire. Was able to drive from downtown after inflating it but knew it wouldn't hold. They repaired my tire AND stayed late to do it! Thank you so much! Highly recommend!!"

"I recently had an extremely negative experience with National Tire and Battery (NTB), which has left me extremely dissatisfied and frustrated. I can confidently say that I would not recommend their services, and I am deeply disappointed with their lack of professionalism and customer support. I visited NTB to have two tires mounted and balanced, a seemingly simple task for a tire business. However, upon arriving at my new home in Virginia, I realized that one of the tires was flipped, with the inside facing outside. This mistake clearly demonstrates the incompetence and lack of attention to detail by the NTB technicians. Not realizing the error initially, I unknowingly drove over 466 miles, completely unaware of the dangerous situation I was in. It is absolutely horrifying to think about the potential hazards associated with driving on a backwards tire. My safety and the safety of others were unnecessarily compromised due to NTB's negligence and carelessness. Immediately upon uncovering the issue, I contacted NTB's corporate office to seek a resolution. I was informed that the regional manager, Charles D'urso, would reach out to me within 24 hours to discuss and resolve the matter. Shockingly, it has now been 72 hours, and I have yet to receive any communication from them. This complete disregard for customer service is deeply upsetting and unprofessional. Left with no other choice, I had to spend additional money and take time off work to resolve the situation myself. Not only did this inconvenience me greatly, but it also further emphasized the utter lack of responsibility that NTB displayed. Driving on a backward tire poses significant risks, including reduced traction, increased likelihood of blowouts, and compromised handling. It is absolutely unacceptable that a supposedly professional tire business could make such a glaring mistake and then fail to take immediate action to resolve the issue. In conclusion, my experience with National Tire and Battery was an absolute nightmare. The incompetence, carelessness, and lack of accountability displayed by their technicians and the complete failure of their corporate office to address the issue in a timely manner have left me thoroughly dissatisfied. I strongly advise others to seek alternative tire service providers who prioritize customer safety and provide competent and reliable service."
