"I thought about making a purchase, and then overheard a conversation between a customer and a clerk, the clerk telling the customer that the store was paperless. I asked if that meant that they do not accept cash payment for purchases, and was informed that that is the case. Refusing to accept cash is a discriminatory practice which should be banned under State and local law. The practice discriminates against the tech-challenged, those of low income, and those who simply as a matter of lifestyle and/or privacy concerns prefer to use cash rather than credit cards or phone apps. I will never shop at Marine Layer, unless they change this policy, and go back to accepting cash from paying customers."

"First time I had gone into this store and I really enjoyed my shopping experience! The quality of clothing is top-notch and very much worth the investment, I know my purchases will last me years (similar quality to a lot of other high quality athleisure wear). Not to mention the message behind the company: a lot of the clothing is recycled material which is absolutely amazing. Sales associate, Jalen, was extremely knowledgeable and helpful during me and my friend's first time in the store and we will most definitely be back!"
