"Like other reviewers have mentioned, leasing team and maintenance team are fantastic. Quick service, responsive, and professional (you’d think those are table stakes, but you’d be surprised how many other apartments drop the ball on this; some have trouble even answering the phone). Nothing to complain about there. Buildings are a bit older, but still fine. Really nice little pond along with the tennis courts. Oh yeah - being across the street from Trader Joe’s is amazing! That alone is a big perk. Rent is fair. Moving out due to personal reasons, but definitely recommend this apartment complex, which we picked after comparing to a number of other options nearby. Great bang for your buck."

"Here are a few recent photos from my daily walks around our beautiful little lake, a real refuge for wildlife in our tiny corner of bustling Reston. How important it will be to keep the lake and its surrounding woods a habitat for endangered plants and animals. I appreciate the overall attention to attractive landscaping at Avalon Reston Landing, but in particular a shout out to the staff for encouraging the wildflowers and grasses that surround the pond. Every day offers a fresh perspective as new blooms appear and birds, bees, and butterflies find a home here. I also want to give a shout out to the maintenance staff for their prompt, always friendly, and high-quality responses to requests for repairs when they are needed. A couple of times I've had to make requests in emergencies late at night or early in the AM, and they have always come through."

"Overall, our experience has been decent especially given the reasonable cost of rent, but over the years this place has definitely gone downhill a little bit. First, the maintenance team is always very responsive and efficient. They are probably the best part about the property. People in the leasing office are helpful when you can actually reach them so there’s that. The on-site staff are all very helpful and friendly. Unfortunately, however, the property has gotten significantly more “corporate” and less personal in recent years. Forcing Comcast on us even after installing the new Verizon cabling was extremely inconvenient, and it’s almost impossible to call the leasing office unless you physically walk in. Most frustratingly is the need to download a new app for seemingly every different thing. The transition from AvalonAccess to “Resident App” just adds an extra step. It has increasingly seemed that decisions are being made not by the on-site staff, but by the corporate office and these changes add extra frustration for residents. The hard work that Tia and her team put in does not go unnoticed, but it's frustrating when decisions get made by people that ultimately don't have to face residents on a daily basis."

"My rating is between a 4 and a 5. The apartments, amenities, and layout of the community are comfortable and attractive. All of my maintenance requests have been handled promptly and efficiently, and I haven't had that many problems that needed to be dealt with. We feel safe and well cared for."
