The Yorklyn Apartments and Townhomes - Apt Management

"Waited for an hour to view an apartment and no one ever showed up. When we called to see what the hold up was, (Viewing was at 11am, at this point it was about 11:30am) we were told someone came out 20 mins ago and didn’t see us parked. We were parked right outside of leasing office watching the doors— no one came out. We were then told someone would be out to show us the apartment . Waited 10 more minutes and still no appearance from anyone. This was not a very good first impression for prospective renters."

"My experience here has been positive so far. We had a maintenance issue with there being a gap between our dishwasher and the cabinet. It was fixed really quickly. The apartment is pretty spacious. Plenty of space for me, my boyfriend and our 2 cats. It is in a nice area, I feel safe and comfortable walking / running outside by myself. There is an elementary school down the road and lots of kids (which I think is a good sign of a safe environment). The communication is good. Neighbors are respectful, it’s pretty quiet. It’s public laundry but it’s pretty affordable and usually no one is there when I do mine. The location is convenient, close to the gas station, grocery stores etc."

"From day 1, Corrine, the property manager made me extremely comfortable. Her caring-ness, her understanding of peoples situations, and overall, her ability to be a real human and put peoples feelings above the "business" side of things. The prices are EXTREMELY GOOD compared to where I was living. I was paying $600 more for a busy, non quiet area, in an apartment that had less than what I have now and wasn't as nice as this one. I am very impressed with the property. I randomly chose a place to live (like drew a circle of possible areas on a map, closed my eyes, and placed a pin on the map, that landed on York, and went from there... and I am so happy I ended up here at The Yorklyn! For those with kids, I am a male with an 11 year old Son here. His safety is my number one priority. I would not live here if I did not feel it was safe, with him being with me. It is safe, it is quiet, its beautiful. Close walking distance to Sheetz and McDonalds and a variety of other fun places. Bowling, Laser Tag, Good food, etc... Very convenient location right off E. Market St. Can swiftly pick up a bite to eat around the corner, or enjoy something via car ride if you don't care to walk! Heaps of options to choose from, making this a perfect location! My understanding is that this new property management took over maybe a year ago. I believe the previous property management company had installed SOME in-unit washers and dryers, but I may be mistaken. So there may be an option out there for in-unit washer and dryers. Otherwise, if you are skeptical about public laundry, I was too. But, the laundry areas are very clean, aren't "trashy", etc... I have never used a public laundry in my life, so was naturally skeptical, but again, the cleanliness of the machines, the maintenance they've shown to care for the machines, etc... Made me feel more comfortable too! Its easy peasy too! Quick app on your phone and your ready to do laundry! Neighbors are quiet, people respect each other, are friendly, etc... Corrine and her team and the ability to manage this complex is just absolute top notch. I have had maybe one basic maintenance issue involving the toilet. Dylan (I believe is the maintenance guy was swift on the fix, and we were rocking and rolling very quickly!). Corrine has answered every text, call, email and returned every voicemail I have made in a timely manner and has provided results, sometimes immediate. I could go on and on about how great this property is and how wonderful this team that manages The Yorklyn is, but I think I hit the main points! I am not sure if people are able to follow-up with questions regarding my comments, but if you do have anymore specific questions regarding my 100% positive experience here, please feel free to reach out! "I would not recommend renting from these people. I had several issues with loud parties in the apartment below me. Property manager told me I would have to get the police involved so they could take action. I filed several police reports and even got the record of the reports from Springettsbury PD. Property manager still refused to do anything. Not only that the lease required to remain in my unit came with a $300 monthly increase. If you see a response posted to this review just know they’re trying to save face as they know they cannot have these reviews removed."

"Didn’t fix my tub even though it was chipping in multiple places, told me to put a mat down to cover it. Once this new company took over they sent out new lease renewals and it was a $300 increase. Gave me the absolute run around for my security deposit for over a weeek after they “issued” it. Janel was nothing but ignorant and same goes for the owner Patrick."
