Reviews
"Mike the owner, is very knowledgeable, friendly and does great work. I've been there several times and I am very happy, could not have had a better experience. Highly recommended. My T line continues to work great. Thanks Mike, my Brompton and I are happy we met you."
"Mike McG was instrumental in sourcing the top-of-the-line Brompton Electric P-type and giving us a guided tour; he’s one of the first Brompton dealers, and I look forward to returning to Trophy Bikes’ new location after years of visiting their former shops, despite living in the LV."
"Mike has an awesome shop set up here for Brompton’s exclusively. He loves his work and it definitely shows. Would highly recommend him for anyone seeking service on their Brompton!"
"A lot of the reviews refer to the old location in Northern Liberties when they used to sell/service lots of different types of bikes and had more staff. The shop is now exclusively for Brompton folding bicycle sales/repair and Mike McGettigan, the owner, is the only person working on bikes now--the experience now should be drastically better than what you read in the other reviews. Mike has been working on Brompton bicycles for over 20 years and has done a lot to promote the Brompton community in Philly during that time. Mike also sells a great selection of bike bells so if you want to pick one up locally instead of buying online, this is probably one of the best places to go in Philly."
"After reading the reviews listed here, I decided to take a shot at having my bike serviced at Trophy. I'm not sure my experience is entirely unique, but it might be helpful to anyone interested in visiting this shop. I brought in my bike to have my wheels aligned. I've been riding an '86 bike that probably needs a lot more work, but since I rely on it for commuting I decided to deal with one problem at a time. Through phone calls and an in-person conversation when I dropped the bike off, I was feeling really good about my decision. They had the work done by the end of the day (nice!) and I could absolutely feel the difference in the quality of my rides. After about five days and only one ride, I pulled my bike out for a ride and noticed that the rear wheel was locked against the frame. Carried it to the shop, explained the situation to the person at the counter and she was really friendly and helpful and took it to the mechanics. I heard her explain the situation several times to what sounded like a frustrated mechanic, which was a little upsetting but I can understand they've probably got other things to deal with. Now here's the kicker, after a few days of riding I can see the wheel is still not properly aligned in the frame. I can't really afford to continue this cycle so I'll be looking elsewhere for repairs."
