"What a fabulous historic place to stay! The common areas are amazing, with an incredible kitchen , beautiful large dining table, two large sitting rooms with plenty of seating and the closest even had board games. The private rooms were wonderfully decorated, large shower, and very comfortable bed. The location is perfect!!! Only a short walk to shops and restaurants."

"Great location! Near restaurants and shops! Love this historic home with all its details! Convenient parking, too-which is rare in Old Town Alexandria. Went for a girls weekend. We stayed in the Zachary Taylor Suite, which has two comfy beds. Next time I’d love to return with a larger group to rent all the rooms and cook in George Washington’s kitchen. Highly recommend and definitely will return!"

"Great place to stay. Perfect location, one block from King Street. Clean room, comfortable bed. Having a refrigerator in the room was very helpful for leftovers from King Street restaurants! The only quibble is one made by others, that the room was too chilly, and there's no way to control it."

"This is the second time we have stayed at The George and we enjoyed the stay. The location is hard to beat as it is right off the main strip of Old Town within easy walking distance to almost everything you would want to visit. As one other reviewer mentioned we found the building to be too cold and there are no individual room thermostats. Also, they were out of coffee in the very nice kitchen. But, despite the few issues we greatly enjoyed our stay and would stay there again."
