"My company booked this property. No one at check-in. Phone number to call, and the person guided you through the check-in process only to direct you to a lock box. Property was a mess with garbage cans placed around to catch what appeared to be water and paint chips, and the check-in desk is freezing. The floors and carpet were disgusting. The room we were given appeared clean, but the bed looked as though it was from the time the place was built. I travel a lot for my job and have been all over, I must say this establishment ties for 1st in the worst places I've been booked at. Do yourselves a favor and spend the extra money and stay at the Lodges at Sunset Village. It's just down the road, but the place is top-notch. Now that I've seen this establishment and read some of the reviews, this place hasn't changed in over 5 months"
"Didn’t even get to stay. Got a call today that they were cancelling our reservations for next week for renovations. Called the front desk they said they weren’t aware the renovations were happening either until their boss told them today and said they need to call people and tell them they are getting their renovations cancelled. I find this to be 100% unprofessional and poor business management. I told the front desk lady it wasn’t her fault however, her boss clearly needs educated in business on how to run a successful hotel. Calling people a week prior to their stay and cancelling their reservations is not how that’s done. You can’t tell me you just found out today you were getting reservations done, hotels are made aware of that months in advance so they can have it on their websites for potential customers to be aware of. It was clearly lack of awareness, lack of business education, lack of professionalism and just plain shameful. So my recommendation if you wanna make sure you got a place to stay without worry of it getting cancelled I would stay somewhere else, because it’s hard to tell what excuse they’d use next for last minute cancellations."
"What a rough in the diamond! I dare you to find another hotel/motel/air bnb in the immediate deep creek area for $88/a night. I just spent the weekend here for less than $200! The hotel is quaint. Really enjoy the rural charm with the Country-esq leaky roofs and dim lights. “Get your steps in” by using the stairs- there’s no elevator. Bonus- uncrustables in the lobby fridge! The good kind-Turkey and cheese!! Rooms are spacious- they even have a nook completely ideal for a fridge and microwave- if only they had them! So bring a cooler! And Make sure you skip every other step walking up and down the stairs- it’s a fun game they play on which will cave in. Pro tip- don’t lose at this game and they will reward you with orange juice for breakfast."
"I wanted a place that would allow my 5 pound puppy and they did so a booked a room due to a funeral I am attending. They changed $30.00 extra dollars for my puppy although they advertise pet friendly. So I get there and my mouth dropped to the floor of my car. As soon as you turned into parking lot it looks like a hotel that has been abandoned. Parking lot has pot holes all over it. No attendant after 3:30 pm. If you arrive after that you have to call them and go to the lock boxes attached to the building and they tell what code to put in your box number and get your key card. The ice machines are broken and a sign says if you need ice to go to the front desk and a attendant will get you some, no one here after 3:30 pm. I called them and sorry we can get you ice in the morning!!! Ended up going to store and buying a cooler and ice. The rooms SUCK BIG TIME. DIRTY DIRTY DIRTY. This is the WORSE hotel, motel, inn I have ever stayed in. I will be asking for a refund for sure!!! Terrible!!!"
"I do not recommend this hotel. The first room we had was on the first floor, terrible smell that made us cough and hard to breathe in from odor. Asked for a refund and they then gave us a room on 4th floor instead. This one was dirty, crumbs from previous guests on table, trash in garage and hair on bathroom floor and sink. No one was working the front desk that evening by the time we went up and discovered that we had a dirty room. There are buckets sitting around to catch the water from the leaking ceiling. I have not received any response back from management about the issues we had and emailed them three times. I would stay away from this place if anyway possible!"
