"You will be hard pressed to find a better location for the 4th of July... within a reasonable budget... and kid-friendly. What I mean by "kid-friendly" is that the house isn't a standing work of art paying homage to the gods of lake house architecture. It is a nice, older house that had some upgrades along the way and it is totally pretty and usable with a nice sized kitchen. The grill needed some attention and we called the rental agency (Taylor Made) and they sent someone right out and it was resolved with by an extremely nice, friendly, and knowledgeable tech. Any gripes I could come up with would be totally nit-picky. We have 5 kids ranging from age 15 to age 4... and the house accommodated us all easily... with guests... for fireworks. The location is perfect for that and isn't located too far in any direction to be inconvenient to the market or dollar store. If you golf, Lodestone is less than a mile away. The owner-neighbors couldn't have been nicer or more cordial. Our stay in "Lake Love" was just perfect all the way around."

"We had a wonderful time enjoying Deep Creek Lake. Lake Love house was anything but wonderful. It is old and in need of MAJOR repairs. The beds are awful and in the basement, they touch the cinder block walls, having only one entry point. The black mold in the fridge and in the bathrooms is unacceptable. The dishwasher and microwave are just tooo gross to mention but the biggest most dangerous thing is the fact that there is no railing on the top 4 steps of the already steep stairway. It can't possibly meet any code for any state. These homeowners are just raking in the cash and putting nothing back into the house. It is a great location and the A/C works great, but that is it. Very difficult to walk down to the lake for anyone, but especially dangerous for seniors, or anyone with bad knees. I took photos of this place, because you can't make this up~just contact me if you want to see them. If you have already booked this place, I feel sorry for you. If you have not yet booked....don't stay here!!!"

"Shabby, not so chic. Our summer week here was plagued by cold temps and rain, so we spent more time in the house than expected. The house meets all basic needs. And that's it. Master mattress is a rock; basement bedrooms are tiny and crowded, with concave mattresses. The living spaces have plenty of seating, but none is very comfortable. Master bath is ok; basement bath is moldy and cramped. Dishwasher didn't work well, mostly spread food particles all around and deposited them on other dishes. The vacation company that handles this house could up it's game with cleaning practices. We found little pieces of trash/wrappers on the basement hearth and on the floor around the couches. The grill was absolutely disgusting. See above about dirty dishes. Gave three stars because it does meet basic needs, was relatively clean, and has a private dock."
