"Our daughter had learning challenges since kindergarten. We were very frustrated. She sort of just got by in elementary school. She attended GMTC from sixth grade through 12, graduating in 2019. It is such a sweet, safe space that is inclusive. It really is a cooperative and a community where all students, staff and families are included. It is a place where children can thrive and grow into young adulthood. There is so much to offer from the arts to outdoor activities and weekly outings to school trips where parents can volunteer to chaperone. The most important thing to me was that my child was loved here and developed a strong sense of self. She developed an ability to think critically, and her art skills were honed. She is now a college student, doing well, and has worked a couple part-time jobs successfully. At her commencement, she said, "I did not feel smart until I came here."
