Reviews
"We have been patients of Virginia Hospital Center and the various physicians groups affiliated with the hospital for over 10 years. So I am writing this review with a lot of sadness, but our experience with the VHC urgent care has been terrible. Several months ago we took our young child there because we thought she was getting a secondary infection and she might need antibiotics. We decided to go there instead of our usual PM pediatrics (mistake!). The doctor checked out our child and then said she is going to take a swab (which we assumed would be a rapid covid or flu test, something we had done hundreds of times before). Fast forward 2 months and we received a bill for over $2,000 from the urgent care because the doctor ran 5 expensive tests (none of which is even a flu test)! Our insurance paid over $1,400 for these tests we were never informed about or approved. And the urgent care had the galls to ask us for the rest of the bill. In addition, we received another bill from an out of network lab (they sent these crazy tests to an OUT OF NETWORK lab) for another several hundred dollars! For months we have emailed them, called and talked with various people in the billing department, in public relations, in VHC customer relations department. We have been getting ping ponged without a resolution to an outrageous bill. This will be the first bill we will NOT pay at VHC. And I am writing this review because we hope this will not happen to another family. Hopefully we will never use this urgent care again (certainly a much larger loss to them then the bill they are trying to collect from us)."
"If I could give zero stars I would. Only one other patient in front of us and still waited two hours. The doctor came in twice “looking for something” and left. Felt like she had no clue what she was doing. Awful experience. Would not recommend."
"Brought my child in late on a Saturday night. They were very thorough and caring while trying to diagnose the issue. Highly recommend and will return if we need an urgent care in the future."
"Not only did the urgent care not provide any treatment options after my lab-work was completed, but then they billed me for the labs as if I were outpatient at the hospital, instead of at urgent care. So I got to pay the urgent care co-pay, and also pay for all of the labs through my deductible. I had a routine infection and had to pay over $1,000. This is, in my opinion, a fraudulent billing practice. One star is too high of a review for this place."
"I understand working long hours among other things can get to you, but being the 1st person patients see in Urgent care matters, it matters so much that at times it is a matter of life and death. Patients expect the receptionist/ nurse to welcome them and tell them that we are good at what we do and that we will do our best. I am talking about a particular person named Angelica, there's nothing angelic about her: Very unprofessional, rude, in the way she speaks, she makes you feel like you have unfinished business to settle. I walked in with my wife and sister to see my mom that was admitted to the ER, I knew only two people at a time are allowed and that is the policy in most places, I respect that. I tried by saying: Can go in too. Angelica answered rudely & said: Put your mask on and sit down. She had me confused with her son or maybe an ex, No one should ever talk down at anyone, I assure you Va. Hospital Urgent care is better than that and can do better by putting Positive people in the front. It's NOT about only about collecting personal data for proper billing purposes, but a positive attitude can make any patient or family member feel better no matter how bad things are. If you disagree, remove the reception desk fire dead weight and replace them with EXPRESS CHECK IN with facial recognition. I was sitting in the waiting room for an hour and the only person she was nice to was the security guy, she was day dreaming about Korean BBQ. Asker about any of the details I mentioned and you know the truth. Bottom line; Angelica should either be Security for the Urgent care or she simply is in the wrong business."
