"TLDR: Pro - Okay pay Con - Abusive mandatory hours with little to no time to recuperate physically and mentally with constant stress and favortism Detailed Review: So I been working in the shipping department (2nd shift) for a year & 8 months so far. Initially I liked it because I was taken in immediately and working alongside friendly workers, almost like a family in a bad situation. It was only after 4 months of working there that I started to hate it. There is always constant pressure and stress towards me and my fellow workers to pick up the pace and raise the numbers with little to no regard of our mental and/or physical health, especially when picking up 200lb sofas and casegoods where you can easily injure yourself. The 2nd shift manager is always putting pressure on us with little no excuees which is why no one likes him. Almost all workers are too tired to bring up high numbers due to mandatory 60 hours a week which is not enough to recuperate your body. The Senior DC Manager may act like he cares about our well being but he is also the one who puts in place the mandatory 60 hours. We have a high turnover rate due to most of our workers leaving due to depression, low morale or little to no time for family which forces the company to send workers from Receiving to help us. And yes, there is blatant favoritism towards Dominicans & Puerto Ricans. HR and the Supervisors work hand in hand so if you report your manager/supervisor, the HR Rep will come back to the supervisor/manager and they will ask us "why did you report us?" So try not to make to much reports towards them or they will deem you a negative/toxic employee and will fire you which has happened to a few of my fellow workers which is why no one reports anything anymore. So yeah, don't work at an abusive environment like Ashley unless you have no choice."
"Its an okay place to work. High turnover rate however, shipping keeps losing people, so other departments have to cover for them constantly. There is blatant favoritism for Dominicans and Puerto Rican employees. But otherwise, coworkers are friendly and you'll stay fit working inside the warehouse and the pay is decent."
"Buyers Beware Please Do Your Research And Shop Around Before Buying Anything From Ashley Furniture/Home-stores-Complete disappointment and dishonesty from this store and all other Ashley Homestores in the area, just look at the reviews from the cooperate site. They are lying and deceiving customers with a smile don't buy anything Ashley brand especially a mattress it won't be covered by a 90 day comfort policy. Go elsewhere you may pay extra but won't be subjected to second hand furniture with a big price tag that doesn't match the quality you have found in store, rather from a third party warehouse the company does not even represent. The sales staff was nice I can say that, unfortunately it was a fake scheme to just make a sale. Sadly I have lost all respect for the sales person who helped me and general manager. They have thrown up their hands to my late delivery date that was continuously delayed, hole in my wall from delivery driver falling through, and mattress that is not the same as promised. No communication after big purchases have been made. Don't think calling the store is going to help or going into the store will help either, sadly it will be more third party numbers provided to contact for help. Please find another company/store to do business with it will save you money and stress, however if you would like a Calvin Candie experience this is the place."
"Had a phone interview set up for 11:30am never received a call. Very unprofessional for a company to say they are gonna call you then they don’t…. Glad I didn’t drive out there like one of the other reviews left."
"I wanted to raise an issue regarding the load that I transported for them recently. I had provided 3 load bars and 2 straps to secure the load, but upon delivery, I noticed that the straps and loadlocks were missing. Unfortunately, despite my request for the return of the straps and loadlocks, I was not able to retrieve them. As a result, I will no longer accept any further loads from them."
