"DISGRACE TO THE MEDICAL PROFESSION. Dr. Zotis is a money grubbing business owner pumping mentally ill women full of Botox instead of providing dental procedures. Today i showed up to my bi-annual appointment to be told Dental and Aesthetics of Pgh no longer accepts insurance and offered their own "subscription plans" with no prior communication. I have been a patient for over 15 years since it was Sixth Street dental in the city, I should have known it was changing for the worse when I was receiving invites to Botox parties (what a wacko, as if facial injections and Tupperware are the same thing). Dr. Zotis and her dental techs will push Invisalign on you whether you need it or not. Their Invisalign plaques hanging on the wall are evidence of prioritizing sales over patient care and health. FYI - You earn platinum and diamond Invisalign status based upon the number of customer you refer. Additionally there is constant pressure to buy aesthetics procedures as opposed to providing standard dental care. As with other patients reviews they will recommend crowns and veneers immediately, even when it is obviously not needed. Dr. Zotis and her office gives good doctors a bad name. RESPONSE: Your response is a joke it is all about profit; the changes to insurance, the aesthetics offering, pushy sales tactics hidden behind medical advice, and the unnecessary work being performed on dental patients. I was never told I needed to see an orthodontist for over 12 years but needed Invisalign the day you start selling it. It is about not communicating the changes to long term patients before they show up, but you can text message me about your Botox parties. What options does a patient have when standing there for your routine dental exams and your insurance is no longer accepted after 15 years? No self respecting Doctor would do this to their patients. I was handed a "consent for services form" and the first line of the agreement states "financial arrangements must be made in advance". Read your recent reviews the only positive review is from your daughters friends and co-workers. You are pathetic and not fooling anyone."
"This is by far the best experience I’ve ever had. Dr. Zotis and Dr. Carr truly care about you and want the best for you. Their staff is always so welcoming and truly just makes my day every time I come in. Not to mention, the office is a dream! And can I get a hell yeah for this woman owned business!❤️"
"I’m not sure what is happening with the McKnight office, but definitely DO NOT go there! I’ve been going there for a while because Dr. Z was great, they didn’t push unnecessary dental procedures, and the location was super convenient. However, I went to my last annual/biannual cleaning, asked as usual about how much I owed (was told $0 because it was a covered annual cleaning), and was asked to schedule another cleaning in 6 months because my insurance completely covers two cleanings a year. Then out of nowhere I get a surprise bill of over $160 over two months later. Their answer? Oh we decided not to take your insurance anymore, but you should know because we sent a letter to your insurance company. No letter, email, or text to me, and no warning when I was at the office. Best part is when I called my insurance, and they said that they definitely were in network during my appointment and are STILL in network. So basically they’re balance billing me, which is a violation of their contract with my insurance. Completely unprofessional, and it would be illegal if this was a medical instead of dental bill. They definitely are having major issues in the back office, so do yourself a favor and avoid this place!"
"I never write reviews for anything, but my experience with this place has been frankly unbelievable, so I'm going to write one this time. My first appointment was earlier this year to address some tooth pain. They took some x-rays, said I needed to get some fillings refilled, and set another appointment. I also scheduled a cleaning, and the soonest appointment date was around 5 months away. So far so good, nothing really alarming about any of this. I go to the my second appointment, the one where I was supposed to get fillings redone, at which point I was told I actually needed to get two crowns after getting two root canals. I already pre-paid them for the fillings they didn't do and agreed to let them put that towards the crowns (mistake, do not ever do this). I took of work, went to the specialist and paid them $200 to tell me I didn't need root canals. At this point I'm thinking I'm definitely going to get a second opinion on the crowns. I call D&AoP back to tell them I'm going to need a refund and spend way longer than I need to on the phone with them to get it, and even then it took about 2 months to get a check in the mail. I already decided I was not going to use this dentist anymore, but my plan was to go to my cleaningbecause apparently there's a dental hygienist shortage and they are difficult to schedule. But, get this, -they cancel the cleaning appointment on me.- The appointment I scheduled, no kidding, 5 months in advance. No reason given, they just canceled and asked if I was available to come some other day that I wasn't available. I ended up scheduling 2 weeks after my original date. Anyway, I go to that, dental hygienist was great, worked with me on being gentle with the bad tooth that still hasn't been addressed. We get to the end of that appointment and the dentist recommends 1 crown at this time to help the tooth. I politely said I was going to think about it, even though I knew I was not coming back. I declined to schedule a follow-up appointment. And that would have been the end of it, -but- today I get this letter in the mail (see attached photo) saying that there was a "breakdown of our doctor-patient relationship" and that my "dental needs will better met elsewhere." Believe me, we certainly agree on that point, but if saying that I'm going to think about something when you've already led me to spend more money than I needed to with a poor diagnosis is somehow uncivilized and disrespectful, I guess we have different definitions of those words. If I could give less than a star I would. Y'all jerked me around for months, didn't even help me with my bad tooth and then sent a letter that comes off as, "You can't fire me, I quit!" Weird. Super weird. Do not go to this dentist."
"AVOID!!! HORRIBLE DENTAL PRACTICE!!! Dr. Litsa and Her Staff OVER CHARGE patients thousands of dollars for dental work and also routinely try and RIP OFF their insurance companies! My insurance company, Physicians Mutual, claims department had two independent dentists look at her initial work and said some of her work was unnecessary!! Dr. Litsa never said anything about it but the insurer sent me a copy of their final appeal denial! However, even though I had no further office visits, Dr. Litsa continued to send in bogus claims trying to get additional money from the Physicians Mutual! Even though they claim to take all dental insurances, they told me recently they aren't taking dental insurance anymore and said "not to come there anymore!!! Most staff are now rude and unprofessional!!! AVOID!! AVOID!! AVOID!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
