"My experience with Dr. Michael Bettner, Dr. Preetinder Kulaar, and Jamie Newton is detailed below. I was seen as a patient by Dr. Michael Bettner at Sagamore Meadows in March 2018 when I had some discomfort on my left jaw. Sagamore Meadows is owned by North American Dental Group. After an examination he said I had a cracked tooth that required a crown. While waiting for the permanent crown to come in I started to experience pain so I went back in and he said a root canal was required. After the root canal and crown, I experienced (and still do) muscle cramps under my jaw on that left side. In October of 2018, 7 months after the crown was put on, it fell off. Dr Bettner re-cemented the crown at that time. A week later, it came off again. Dr Bettner re cemented it again.. Spring of 2020 the crown fell off for a 3rd time. Dr. Bettner explained it was due to the crown material and cement not being compatible and I had to get a 2nd crown of different material. Another dentist would later tell me this is untrue and no matter what kind of crown and cement was used it would eventually come off again because the tooth was prepped incorrectly. I wouldn’t learn this until much later. In January of 2022 the second crown fell off. I went back and apparently Dr Bettner had moved to Florida so I was seen by Dr Kulaar. After an x ray and examination she said that because I had so many issues with this tooth she was referring me out a specialist. After my examination with the specialist I learned that the tooth was incorrectly ground down when Dr Bettner prepped it for the first crown. I got a second opinion and the second dentist said the same thing. And he was able to do it without the aid of an x ray. What really upset me was both Dr Bettner and Dr Kulaar examined that tooth while I was having issues. NEITHER told me the real reason it kept falling off. In February of 2022 I received a 3rd crown from a different provider an in November of 2022 that tooth required gum surgery to finally fix the damage that had been done by Sagamore Meadows. While this was going on I contacted Sagamore Meadows for some kind of restitution or reimbursement for everything that happened. They offered to refund the money I paid for my initial crown and root canal, but that was all. I was not satisfied by the offer they made so I spoke to the parent company that owns Sagamore Meadows, North American Dental Group. After some research I learned North American Dental Group has a history of pressuring their Dentists to meet aggressive revenue quotas. You should look them up! Lots of lawsuits. I spoke several times with Jamie Newton, Patient Relations Specialist. She refused to expand on the initial offer of reimbursement but said I could file a claim with their medical malpractice division. She discouraged me because it could take months or even years to see a resolution, but their first offer was ready and I’d have it today. I wasn’t happy about the offer so I wanted to file a claim with the malpractice insurance. Apparently she didn’t understand that was my wish because after a year I hadn’t heard back from them. In August of 2023 I contacted her and she apologized for everything. I sent her my medical records from my dentists, x rays and summaries of my experience. She said she would get back to me after a few days. In September I emailed twice with no response. I called her multiple times directly with no response, always going to voicemail. I left messages to call me back with my contact information. Still no contact with her. I called North American Dental Group directly and spoke to someone who said she was busy but would call me the next day. She also said Jamie had gotten my voicemails. That was a week ago and she still hasn’t called me back."
