"Just recently enrolled our daughter and son for swimming lessons. While unsure of how they would respond to a new experience and environment, they absolutely look forward to class each week. "Update: Big Blue Staff were quick to get in touch with us and resolve our issues. So far I have seen a difference in how the lessons are taught and they are being more consistent with teaching the same thing every class to promote a safe and confident in water routine. Still had an issue with not having the same instructor every day. Hopefully that will change with our next lessons. We have only taken a few lessons at this location, but have been to other swim schools outside of VA and decided to try one closer to us. Everyone is very nice and welcoming and facility is clean and the instructors are very nice and patient. However, my biggest drawback is that they try to get the kids to do tasks to move up to the next level quickly instead of having the kids master each skill before moving on. The instructor was nice and patient and just doing what they were told, but moving too quickly for toddlers just learning to do the basics before even being able to swim. I do not like this tactic as it doesn’t instill safe swim confidence. Other schools we attended worked on the same set of skills over and over and over again for weeks creating a pattern of repetition and confidence before even thinking of moving a toddler on to the next level. I hope to see this changed in the next classes for me to change my review or drive over an hour to the other school we prefer."

"Great facility! I love that the parent viewing area is in a temperature controlled section of the building and not in the noisy pool space. The pool and parent areas are divided by giant glass windows so parents can easily watch. My kids have instructor Wayne and they really enjoy lessons with him. They are often smiling/laughing during their lessons and are making great progress so far! Today I had some scheduling issues to work out and Ashley at the front desk was great. Super nice and helped me figure everything out!"
