"Late check-in, late check-out. Service was good and fast. Although the area can be a bit daunting, this NGIS was good enough to provide a decent gym and a small MWR area. I saw that they had a pool table and entertainment area where you can either just sit around or play console games. They also have a basketball hoop out in the back by the parking lot. It's quite hidden but you'll see it if you park by the entrance or if you're out in their little backyard. The gym is on another building but adjacent to the actual building. The lobby was neat and welcoming. They have a coffee area there too. They have two grills outside and a good seating area if you want to have a little picnic. The gazebo by the grill area is the designated smoking area. The room I got was pleasant enough. Queen sized bed, coffee in the room, paper towel included, hair dryer, three lamps altogether with sockets on each one you could plug your phone or laptop into, two night stands, a phone (if you need it), an alarm, a good sized TV with 2 HDMI hook ups, a decent-sized fridge to place groceries in if you're there for quite some time, a pull-out table underneath the table where the Keurig is so you can have an extra room to eat, a chair with ottoman on the side, a microwave, and Toiletries provided (lotion, shampoo, conditioner, exfoliating soap bar, and a moisturizing body bar). The only thing that threw me off was the door on the other side of the bathroom indicating that it's a shared bathroom. It actually depends on your room. I believe the first floor have the shared bathrooms while the rooms upstairs do not. Carpet seemed quite old but it didn't matter much to me. The room smelled good when I came in. Just bring some slippers with you before you get here. Guest laundry is on the second floor if you need to. Make sure you buy some detergent and dryer sheets if need be before you get here as well. They also have a few vending machines for drinks by the entrance and inside on the first floor near the ice machine. I would say that my stay in this NGIS, although the facility is pretty old, was absolutely pleasant. Although I didn't use it, the MWR facilities along with the gym was definitely a good addition to the place. Just be wary that you might lose phone signal around this area but they have free wifi you could use during your stay. PS: water pressure on the sink, shower, and toilet were definitely powerful (just be aware of the little splash while you flush). Shower was definitely hot as well."
"Great accommodations for CSCS school. Has great gym, XBOX X, PS5, clean rooms and immediate repairs to any issues. Two minute walk to school."
"Awful awful management! I had Navy orders for an experiment on a launch at Wallops - and the manager calls a couple days before the reservation to ask why there is an adult guest staying with me. As a research scientist within driving distance (3 hours), it made sense to travel with family which is irrelevant to any hotel manager - yet the manager refused to believe it was for orders and said specifically - We cannot accommodate any special requests from your wife! It was a very odd thing to say before a stay, but I just ignored it. On the day of travel with all my equipment and another colleague with also a vehicle full of equipment, while en route to the Navy Gateway hotel with two confirmed reservations, the hotel front desk calls to say that our reservations have been cancelled for the evening. When asking why, it is absolutely clear that the manager has basically cancelled my colleague and my reservation because he didn't believe it was a real order (for which we had proof) and instead presumably allowed his own friends to take the limited reservations. Keep in mind during a launch at Wallops (weekend particularly) all hotels within 70 miles fill up and multiply in terms of price (way outside of per diem). When calling the national hotline, the multiple agents reminded us that our reservations are confirmed - and suggested we just show up anyways at the hotel since we cannot be denied. But given how rude the manager was over the phone it was obvious that if we arrived he would've caused more confrontation - and not surprisingly, he put the front desk receptionist in the middle of the cancellation without calling himself. What a headache this caused, and it will certainly be raised to his superiors as the manager went outside his bounds with his assumptions - while my situation is very specific, this last minute cancellation could happen to anyone with reservations at this Navy Gateway Inn."
"Love this Hotel! The service was top-notch. We had a "suite" that included the bedroom, livingroom,(sofa/fold-out bed)a simple kitchen, & bathroom. The bedroom was above my expectations. Our bed was a king size Mahogany Sleigh bed, very beautiful. The night tables & dresser, also mahogany with real marble tops. The furniture while beautiful was also high quality. There were a few reasons for you I only gave it 4 stars: 1) no elevatars & the suites was only on the 2nd floor; I am physically disabled. 2) it would be better if they had a morning breakfast The hotel is at most, only 20 minutes from both Chincoteague & Assateague Islands. Wild horses run free on the beach between Virginia & Maryland."
"Decent accommodations with nice two-room suites (formally two independent rooms with shared shower and toilet). Kitchen has full sized fridge and sink, though only a small microwave to prepare meals. No dishes in the cupboards--the front desk may have some to borrow, I never inquired during my short stay. Single brew K-cup coffee maker and ice bucket are standard, and supplies are restocked during daily cleaners. Bed was comfortable enough and rooms spacious enough--would make for a nice long-term stay. WiFi was available, though not worth writing home about; lobby area has serval computers available if so inclined. Also on site are a large gym with several cardio machines and a Liberty area with games and other entertainment. Be warned: second floor rooms are only accessable via stairs, as no elevators are installed, so be sure to request a first floor room if needed."
