New Beginnings Women's Crisis is a non-profit organization located in Laconia, New Hampshire, dedicated to ending sexual, domestic, and stalking violence through the provision of safe and effective services. Our mission is to provide emergency refuge and support to those affected by violence, while also working towards social change by promoting an effective community response to violence.

We believe that no one deserves to live in fear of being beaten or raped, and that violence must be abolished from our society. Our organization operates on the principles of non-hierarchical flat structure, making decisions through consensus to promote equality and empowerment.

New Beginnings recognizes that violence is rooted in systemic oppression, and acknowledges the interconnected nature of gender-based oppression with other forms of discrimination. We are committed to providing services and education that meet the unique needs of individuals who may be disenfranchised by multiple systems of oppression.

Since our inception in 1991, New Beginnings has grown stronger and reached significant milestones, including opening the first open shelter in the state. Our work continues to evolve, focusing on children, prevention, and serving diverse communities. We provide services for children and teens affected by violence, and educate the community about the history and methods of confronting domestic and sexual violence.
