"An absolutely beautiful hotel in a building rich with charm and history. Very reasonably priced, the staff were lovely, and I appreciated the continental breakfast. I would definitely stay here again!"
"Not sure how to rate this one because the service was the best ever! The rooms were dated and unfortunately my bathroom was not cleaned when I checked in however Lisa from the front desk cleaned my bathroom personally which was really amazing of her! Also, the location is horrible if your flight is delayed and you get in late as I did and there is no where in the area to grab a bite to eat...Again, Lisa was a savior and bought myself and my son some snacks to hold us over until breakfast! It almost ruined me but they helped keep my spirits up and for that I am overall thankful."
"I booked a room here after reading a negative review by someone probably not in a healthy mental state. We wanted to find a bed and breakfast close to town but couldn’t find one closer than 20 miles away. Compared to the other options in Concord, The Centennial seemed to be the closest to a B and B. For location and charm, this place is just fine. Whoever said the restaurant feeds 2 people a day is just a hater. We had dinner on a Thursday evening and it was not empty. It is a bona fide restaurant, not a hotel kitchen. The food was decent, though there were no vegetarian entrees. I had a small spinach salad and fries. The burger looked pretty good though. We also had the artichoke dip with pita chips. We ate the whole thing. I would have liked a huge salad, which is what we normally eat at home, but i don’t expect to find that anywhere. The mayonnaise did not seem to have xanthan gum thankfully; the mayo was easy to dip into with the fries. Oh, we ate all the fries, too. The linens and bathroom were clean. The temperature and the bed was comfortable. Sure, the carpeting is stained from people’s dirty shoes (wipe your feet on the mats!) but that’s not uncommon in old hotels. There were no forgotten air conditioner parts on the window sill nor left-behind trash. The room was clean and comfortable. Though, there were no USB outlets, so bring your charging brick. The staff was super hospitable and helpful including in the restaurant. This was my first time in New Hampshire and I was very pleased. The hotel is on an active street on the edge of a residential area. I took a walk in the well-kept neighborhood to get my steps in, found a little library book box, and got a book to read. I would definitely stay here again."
"I'm currently staying here right now, and only because I can't get a refund and can't afford to lose the $1000 I paid for two rooms for two nights. It was pricier than other hotels in the area, but the photos and reviews made it seem worth it. It is not. Walking in, there was food and debris on the floor at the entrance. We got to our rooms and they were so bad--dirty, dilapidated, one smelled like dog urine--that we immediately went back to the front desk and asked if there was any way we could get a refund so we could find rooms elsewhere. I had prepaid and it was a non-refundable reservation. I hoped that because we wanted a refund due to the state of our rooms that they could accommodate it, but they wouldn't. They also insisted that I booked through a third party even though I booked directly through their own website and my reservation confirmation reflects that. Given the situation, the front desk staff was very professional and tried their best to do what they could to make things better. The front desk staff are the ONLY reason this has more than one star. They arranged for two new rooms for us. They were marginally better (no broken sinks, no dog urine smell, no hair all over the toilet and used soap in the bathroom), but still very dirty and dilapidated for the price of this hotel. The photos online are NOT indicative of the reality of this hotel. This is a historic building and I don't expect it to be shiny and modern. But I DO expect it to be clean and in good repair. There is difference between historic and dilapidated, and this is the latter. The pictures I'm posting are from the second, slightly better room. I didn't get photos of the first rooms. **Editing to add: Today, day two of our stay, we left the "Service Please" sign on our door when we left at 9:30 this morning so we could get clean towels and have the trash removed. We returned to the room 12 hours later and the room had not been serviced. I had to go down to the front desk to get clean towels."
