"Our highschool principal scolded us [athletes, specifically] for celebrating goals and the like, as if the issue with a lot of our teams wasn't the lack of coordination between teammates, which is leadership's responsibility to make sure is there. They would also blame us for a lot of students having poor grades. Though, the whole point of the school is to educate people and to help them improve. And if it athletes have poor grades, they don't allow them to play. So, the issue with poor grades is a systemic issue, not an individual one, because you wouldn't scold a crowd for the actions of individuals. And, obviously, the leadership is responsible for the specific system here. Though, they put the entire responsibility on the students, most of which don't wanna be there. And I get it, kids are responsible for *their* grades. But, again, most of them don't wanna be there, so most are satisified with the bare minimum. Oh, and, again, the entire point of a school is to improve a populations overall knowledge and understanding of things. It isn't the student's responsibility to make sure that the education system works; that goes to the grown adults who decided to take up the responsibility of educating the younger generations. All in all, the leaders at MV refuse to take responsibility for their jobs. That, or they refuse to accept that they're in a tough situation and are unwilling to try and make the best of it. It sets a bad example for the teachers and students alike, who are honestly putting in way more effort into the school than they need to and deserve much more credit than they get. Stuff needs to change somehow, so I won't say to not go here, but if you do send children here and happen to think, "I'm gonna read online reviews of a school," then prepare your children for mediocre leadership that encourages mediocre teaching, even from objectively good teachers."
"I went to this school and all that happened was getting picked on and teachers doing nothing it not worth going there"
"Just transferred, all the teachers and students seem to be very nice. Classes and after school events are really good."
"MV alumni - wouldn't be where I am today without the incredible and dedicated staff at MV. Go Pride!"
