"The trail follows an old logging road through a mixture of deciduous and evergreen trees until reaching a large field. The trail follows the edge of the field and re-enters the woods. Total length (round trip) is about 1.7 miles. This trail is on private property and maintained by volunteers and members of non-profit Saco Bay Trails. The first portion of the trail can be a little noisy due to the trails proximity to the turnpike but once you enter the woods it is a nice walk. Often you can see wildlife including deer and turkey. Please follow the trail rules posted on the kiosk to ensure future access to this trail and parcel."
"Warning: Hunting and trapping near trail, wear orange and keep dogs leashed or don't risk it! Easy to traverse loop, mostly flat and very well marked. Half of the trail runs within earshot of the highway. There are some small bridges and wooden planks in the wet areas that can get slippery. I imagine this is partially under water in the spring."
"EDIT: Sign posted Nov 2020 warns of leg traps near the trail. Be careful with off-leash pets! It can be very buggy and the highway noise is very prominent until the trail turns away from the road, but this is a very pleasant trail and lightly traveled (in my experience)."
"Nice place to get out and exercise. Expect noise from highway."
"Probably my least favorite Saco hiking spot. I mean, it is the woods so stars for that but, turnpike noise dominates the short, mostly featureless walk. It's an out and back/loop hike through trees and fields before looping back to the parking lot. There is a geocache here and it is an easy hike for kids so it is a good place for families. If you're just looking for a way short, family friendly hike and don't mind the noise, this is great. If you want to feel a bit like you've escaped or hike often, there are better local places that offer a bit more serenity and terrain variation."
