"85 $ + tax/night for a tent site? The tent section is a 3000 to 4000 square foot fenced area of the campground. The tent sites have no water or electricity. The rest of the campground is occupied by long term RV campers. The bathroom is about 50 yards away and has a historic feel to it to say the least. $85/night for a tent is by far the highest price I have seen in Maine. Considering the general "comfort" level, it is absolutely overpriced. We only spent one night there, and only because we arrived late. $40 would be reasonable at max."
"Peggy is such an amazing manager. The campground has a perfect location, right beside old orchard beach. Plus they have free showers! This is a gem when you want to put your tent close to the beach, without having to pay for a hotel. Keep in mind that this campground is more « downtown » so there not a lot of woods around, although the big trees around help to keep the tent cool at night. It was a perfect spot to enjoy fair on old orchard beach! I will book again for sure"
"We stayed here last night, during tropical storm Isaias. We were the only people crazy enough to tent out, and due to the fact that we had been traveling from New York we couldn’t arrange to stay somewhere else. Peggy was super friendly and willing to help accommodate us, to make sure we had a safe tent site. We had a site with a platform so we were above the ground slightly, trees covered the site perfectly; no big branches that could’ve came down on us during the storm, close to the bathroom; which by the way were stupendously clean!!!!! I highly recommend staying here, it’s a 10 minute walk to the town, staff is friendly and bathrooms are clean!!"
"Good for what it is.... very great location walkable to the pier and shops/bars, but don’t expect much else. No cable, poor WiFi, bathrooms were pretty gross and they were working on showers so gals could hear guys talking in the bathhouse and guys had to deal w workers. No one there when we checked in so we found them the next day to square up, guy working gave good advice on where to go and what to see. Nice folks walking around and we felt safe. They have quiet hours which was also nice. Overall good three night stop and happy to find somewhere close to the beach."
