"We stayed in rm 4 and had most of the facility to ourselves for 4 days after Hurricane Lee. The beach was beautiful and a short skip from our room across the deck. The room was very clean and well maintained. One day of heavy rain and storms left us cooped up and watching TV for the evening but used the hot tub and heated pool once weather cleared. Housekeeping services not provided daily but quick call to front desk replenished our towels and coffee service. Room well equipped for small meals using fridge, coffee maker, microwave, toaster and bar sink with full bathroom tub/shower. Enjoyed trips to pier and local shopping- a lot of business were closed until 11am beginning their off-season so early rising made for out of town trips but a short 12 min drive to area hot spots. Overall, great stay in a very nice location!"
"Motel was really nice but walls were super thin. Bed was comfortable, service was great, close to everything, etc"
"We had an excellent time staying at the Ocean House with our family. We stayed in one of the updated two bedrooms apartments. Beds were comfortable, we loved the kitchenette. The location was awesome and staff was helpful. Our rooms were clean. We had so much fun at the beach and swimming in the waves! There is a cute little market and place to rent all the beach items we needed. We would definitely stay here again. Only recommendation, we wish there were beach towels available in the room."
"Drove up from the pier side & the whole place was trashed, I wondered if we had been totally scammed! I found a spot to park & asked an employee picking up trash where to check-in & he just kept saying "at the front desk". There was literally no 'front' let alone a desk. On one of the buildings out front there was a sign directing me down to another hotel. Once I figured out where to check-in the process was seamless. They claimed I could use the pool at waves but I never made it over there because we were supposed to wear these bracelets (like at concerts or amusement parks) and I didnt love the idea of myself and my kids walking around advertising where we were staying! Also I didnt feel like walking 3 blocks with the kids excited to go to the pool but risking it being crowded or whatnot, so I just told them ours was closed. We had a queen/sofa streetview on the 2nd floor. The 'patio' was blocking walkways & I had to go up another flight of stairs bc people were sitting outside thier room blocking the path. There were two windows - the large front one which we never opened the curtain because it was such a privacy breach & the small one in the bedroom which went to the construction site. The kitchenette was a great addition I didn't realize we had though. An overhead light in the kitchen area didnt work & niether did the bathroom fan. The small dim light in the living area was insufficient to actually sit & chat near. There was candy on the floor in the bedroom & a large pee stain on the sofa bed's mattress cover, also no bedding for the sofa bed. I called to have them replace the cover & bring bedding, even changed the door sign to "Please makeup room" when we left, but noone came so we put a flat sheet over the actual sofa & slept on that. Walls are paper thin, I could hear neighbors in all directions as if they were sitting right next to me and the ton of times the train went through across the road woke us up & shook the building. The location is still what kept us there, it was 3 nights & we survived just fine. Definitely wouldn't recommend for families! Still regret paying $150 a night but young adults looking for a place to crash & not spend downtime in, the place works alright."
"Upon arrival we were VERY confused, and did not know where to go check in. The ocean house had a building that said office, with no doorway. We walked around the other side of the building to find unlocked doors but no one in sight. Banded check in/dining room/bar? With no staff. We walked around a while until a guest told us we had to check in at the other hotel "waves" down the street. But the logos and staff were wearing shirts that said "Lafayette". We were confused for sure. Found out many building are owned by the company, and we could swim at any properties pool, which is cool. The close beach access is awesome. It's far enough away from the piers larger crowd, but not to far to walk and enjoy the strip. The room, was clean enough, just super outdated! It's like stepping back to the 80's with the paneling, pink bathtub/toilet, and the old lights. But it was clean and a comfy king size bed so it did the trick for a fun little Vaca. Parking wasn't to bad either."
