"My experience with Needham Gastroenterology echoes some of the other reviews I see. Dr. Cohen and all the clinical staff I have personally seen are amazing. They really make you feel heard and work with you to understand treatment plans and next steps. The administrative staff however is where this practice falls short. It is incredibly difficult just to get a hold of anyone and almost seem like they do not want you booking an appointment with how short and rude they are. Be prepared for a fight just to get your foot in the door, even if you are a returning patient trying to schedule follow-ups."

"Called today to try and set up a new patient appointment- but it felt like I was a burden to the receptionist. The way she was short to me about how it’ll be weeks into January/ February before I “could even” get an appointment and I needed my doctor and my insurance to call with my referral before she could even book anything. I completely understand having a long appointment list, just the way she said everything I was a little taken aback. Not at the wait times, or the need for the referral just at the way she said it. It made me feel like they really didn’t need or want new patients. Kind of a bummer when you’re just looking for help."

"I really like Dr. Rottman and his nurse Shawna (sp?). Dr. Rottman was a very kind doctor, great bedside manner, and the care he offered was top notch. The downside? Their customer service is low quality. It is very hard to get in touch with them on the phone. Their "answering service" puts you on hold for 30-45 minutes regularly. Sometimes to get in touch with them, you have to call, get put on hold for 10-15 minutes, hang up, call them again, etc, until you reach a person. It doesn't make sense for such a great doctor's office to have such a big weakness in an easily addressable area. Should be easy to fix, if they prioritize it. You got this, Needham Gastroenterology Associates!"

"My appointment was the day of a snowstorm. I called to say I would be late and they were so accommodating. Seems most everyone else canceled so I was the star of the show. [okay, not really] It was really somewhat to find as I couldn't see any signs that were probably there, just not in my face. I finally followed another car into a secret entrance and eventually found my way to where I was going. The building is very clean and personel the best ever."
