"Absolutely delightful. Our clean first floor room had a comfy queen sized bed, a half bath & a fan to use if needed. Down the hall was a community bathroom with a shower which was very clean & readily available to us. No TV in our room but there was one in the entry area with cable & comfy chairs and a couch The ocean view from the rocking chairs on our front porch was very nice but we utilized the community porch directly overlooking the ocean which had many comfy chairs available for guests to enjoy the view, a cocktail and the company of other guests. The outside bell for breakfast was rung at 8am and the menu was varied and the food excellent. Breakfast was served from 8am -9am. The bell was rung for dinner at 6pm and you need to make a reservation by 4pm of that day. Those who work at the Driftwood Inn were all very cordial and friendly. We have stayed at the other 2 Inns/motels on Bailey Island and this is my absolute favorite! I love the old fashion style, the ocean views and the close proximity to the walking trail, the Giant’s Stairs. The price for staying in this gem is VERY reasonable. We highly recommend the Driftwood Inn and all that it has to offer."
"Some quirky things but we rented the whole house. If you don't, just kniw bathroom and 'common areas' will be shared. We had a stranger walk into our gathering out of nowhere which was weird. Breakfast was very good. Place was kept clean. Views are spectacular!"
"The view is amazing! The food was great! However.. the beds were uncomfortable, the walls were paper-thin, and the service desk lady was incredibly rude. Super thin toilet paper! Shared showers were clean, but not ideal for everyone. The waitresses were incredible though!!"
"nice spacious cabin with small kitchenette. Rustic and clean. small deck facing pool. moderately priced. 3 night minimum. most cabins have 1 week minimum. Ocean fed pool. Great views. Pool did not look inviting. The frequent breeze didn't help, even though it was mid July. Nice quiet friendly place. Located just after the Giant Steps. Dinner at 6; must send your order in by 4pm. Breakfast at 8am. Good waitresses. decent prices. Decent menu, but bland food, not that there's anything wrong with that. Lobster not available for the two nights we were interested in, although they told us it was available."
"I love the location. The staff are always helpful. The guests are always nice to each other or at least nice to me. I love sitting on their porches and just listening to the ocean because in some buildings you’re literally feet away from it or you can easily hear it. My only complaint is if you’re staying in any of the combined buildings that are not a cabin there’s only one bathroom with a shower. Most of the buildings at least have two toilets. But having only one shower can severely limit people getting ready in the morning or evening. It is incredibly dated but I feel part of its charm and they’re pretty good about making sure you know it’s dated. So I don’t want to take away for that."
