Reviews of Hotel 44 North
"Room heater got too hot in room even with heat on as low as both knobs could go. So I had to turned it off, and was cold during the night. The mattress in room 215 is shot. It slopes and sags terribly toward the edge of the bed. I had to stuff a pillow under my mattress to keep from rolling off the bed. For the so-called competitive price, this room failed me. They forget my wake up call also. This was unacceptable."
"I want to start up by saying that staff was very nice! Unfortunately, we were not made aware upon booking that they would be doing construction, we were told as we were checking in which is not a big deal construction stopped at 8 PM. The issues that arose is The phones did not work and our toilet plugged. When we called the front desk, they brought us a plunger and mentioned that the plumbing has been quite a problem with the construction going on, and the hot water has been working on and off. We had good luck the first night that we stayed with hot water but then the next day could not get the hot water to come through. It was lukewarm at best. Seems like they’re doing a lot of construction in this place will be beautiful however, was a little bit of a bumpy time while we stayed."
"We were very pleased with this hotel. Yes, it is a little dated and needs a paint job, but that's just cosmetics. The more important things for a good stay were excellent, such as the beds and sheets were comfortable, it was quiet (we didn't hear any people in the hallway, doors slamming, etc), the indoor pool was AMAZINGLY warm, and you had your basic breakfast in the morning that included pancakes, sausage, eggs. The people who worked there were nice, and the location is right off the highway, with amenities (such as restaurants, gas, etc) very close by. There were actually two restaurants (thai, and Mexican I think?) right across the street though we did not need to eat by the time we got there. And all for a very reasonable rate! Can't beat it!"
"It was fine for a night. The room itself was decent, kind of set up weird but had everything we needed for one night. It wasn't dirty but it didn't seem fresh by any means. The elevator was broken when we arrived and we were put on the top floor due to availability. This shouldn't be an issue but I have a heart condition and stairs are very hard for me. It took a lot for me to get up to the room and I felt trapped up there. I specifically picked it for the elevator. The pool showed it was closed but it sounded like a bachelorette party was in there all night, which was loud and annoying. And our bathroom was very noisy from another room maybe? It seemed like the water was running from loud pipes almost non stop. Parking was also very limited."
"I stayed at this hotel for one night and found it to be both serviceable and accommodating. I was skeptical as I had seen some pretty scathing reviews by was pleasantly surprised. Our room was clean. The bed was made. And while I would have preferred a way to cast a video to the TV, that's a deal breaker. My complaints were the little things you notice as you spend time in a place. The toilet seat wasn't fastened to the toilet. There were signs of wear in the carpet. Small imperfections dotted the walls. Behind the night stands needed dusting. There was no hand soap in the bathroom. And the road noise was egregious. Really, though, the only other issue was some rowdy guests down the hall from us. They didn't settle down until after 11 PM and we were trying to sleep because we had an early flight."
