"We wanted to get away for the night and we were able to book a same night reservation in a lovely deluxe suite with a cozy fireplace and the Jacuzzi tub was a sweet treat. We had dinner at the tavern inside where the staff was incredibly sweet and so accommodating of our young child. 10/10 will come back We do hope next time we can take a dip in the pool too!"
"This place is not the same. Room very clean, mattress needs to be replaced, very uncomfortable. Fridge was leaking so called down to talk to someone. Only 1 person at desk, no one at night to fix anything. I went down and they gave me a white towel. The water on top of a varnished bureau made a mess but I wiped it up. We got to the afternoon tea at 3:55; it is supposed to run until 4:30. There were no sandwiches left and I asked about it and they said they were not going to bring any more out. This was New Years Eve Day. Very Very Sad. The plants and greenery were nice but no Xmas lights. The pool was not ready for my nephews to swim in until around 3 in the afternoon because the pool was cloudy. We found out that day that even if there had not been a fire in their restaurant they were going to have a fixed price menu in the Tavern for $95 a person. My sister had to find a way to feed the kids. Not particularly friendly for families any more. They should have at least told people where they could find something."
"Sad to say the harrisekett had fallen. It's been a while since we here there but what a difference. The reception staff were great. That is were it ended. Our room had a chair with tears in it, ceiling tile was out of place and there was mold in the shower grout. Library, the chair to the right of the door way was covered in dog hair and smelled of head oil. Carpet was filthy. Tavern. Was seated and then waited 20 min to have an order taken, 40 min to get soup and lobster rolls. Maybe 1 Oz of meat. Lobster bisque was mostly liquid no flavor. Clam chowder tasted like flour. We canceled our next night and left. It's a shame for what was a perfect stay down to a 1 star stay at best. Poor service and no attention to detail at all. Even the landscaping was messy."
"My wife and I have been staying the weekend here for the past 10 years during sparkle weekend. The wait staff is great and we enjoy seeing them. Until this past weekend it has been a wonderful place to stay. The menu at the Broad Arrow Tavern has eliminated many of our favorite dishes. The morning Buffet has also eliminated many items and is no longer free with the room. When asked about the 20.00 fee on our bill they said it was for the afternoon tee, (in the past has come with the room)the use of the pool(we did not use) and something else that I don't remember. There are other changes that are not positive. We book two years in advance and because of friends we have made there we will stay next year and if changes are not made for the better we will find another place to stay. SO SAD"
"The Inn itself and the rooms, and Front desk staff were very nice and helpful. The room did have a bit of a musty smell, but it was ok overall. The drawback was the attached restaurant (Broad Arrow Tavern) and the breakfast venue within (Maine Harvest). Neither had acceptable table fare, and service was relatively slim. For dinner we waited 1 and 1/2 hours to be seated, only to be served a very mediocre meal. I would have expected better for this locale and price point. I would perhaps consider (slightly) returning to stay in the Inn, but absolutely will see dining options elsewhere!!! I would give them a 4 or 5 star if they had better dining accommodations."
