"My husband has been going to George's for at least 30 years! He is always happy with the suits, pants and jackets he gets there. The tailoring has always been spot on. They even did a rush tailoring for him when it was needed at no extra charge. We are headed there next week for slacks."
"I need quality clothes for work and for play. I get them at George's. Whether it's an entry-level suit or a quality garment from HSM or Jack Victor, I know I'm going to get the right fit. The staff is always attentive, kind and most importantly knowledgeable about what they are selling. They have also made physical improvements in the past few years like carpet and paint and nice furniture on the wedding side. And, I know that the alterations are done on premises and will be done to my satisfaction. I especially like the Stantt custom shirt program. Getting the right combination of sleeve, neck and tail along with breast pocket (or not) and choice of buttons is not easy and the pricing is super competitive with other brands that offer less customization. And accessories like socks and wallets and ties are abundant. Did I mention there is tons of street parking?! Anyway, George's beats by a mile the mall stores and kills it in comparison to online stores. I like to touch the clothes and have an experience. Kudos to keeping quality service at the top of your list."
"This was a very unprofessional place to deal with, nothing fit. Pants were 6" to long, I could have flown in the shirt. My son's WEDDING! I turned the suit back in on the following Monday to be greeted by the manager and his assistant only to be pushed from person to person. I asked him if he stood by his company's work and he stated No I Don't.... because his Taylor's make mistakes. Needless to say a company that's been in business for 84 years (wich I knew but he didn't) to have zero empathy or to take no responsibility for their mistakes is wrong. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY. A WEDDING IS A SPECIAL TIME AS IS A PROM, or any other function that would require attire to fit the occasion. If you need to rent this attire, please take it from a hard working man, go somewhere else cause from their own mouths..... we don't stand behind our attire. And satisfaction is certainly no guarantee!"
"I was recently in to George's to have a suit tailored for my wedding. I spent time researching tailors in Manchester and they came highly recommended. Entering it is kinda confusing with no real front of the store and the employees were a bit frazzled. I had called first and they explained you could just walk in. I waited to be seen and was originally fitted very quickly by one gentleman who was working. No measurements just chalk. I was a bit caught off guard but figured from the website they do this all the time. The manager (or at least the one with the worst attitude made a comment and I just brushed it off and paid the 140 fee) no problem. I looked around and there was a jacket I liked but not for sale but I asked "where I could buy said jacket or something like it" same manager said something along the lines of pointing me to go shop somewhere else. I asked when coming to pick up my suit for the jacket to be a bit taken in at the waist. And there it was. "You are trying to tailor a Men's suit and you are not a man". I thought the point of a tailor was to customize material to fit a person. It's sad that in 2023 there is still a problem with homophobic behavior. I am a person just looking for the right fit for my wedding to a person I love. The woman who helped me at the end of this experience was super professional and nice. But you sir should be ashamed."
"It’s a hike from Boston, but I definitely found it worth the trip. The staff is super knowledgeable and friendly and with alteration included as part of the overall price, what’s not to love?"
