"I am going there every year for at least last 20 years. Very little had been changed. The rooms are very outdated, swimming pool used to be heated, it is time to install quiet split AC units instead of old noisy air conditioners and replace furniture. The steps to the beach are rotten and could break any moment. The beach used to be taken care of. However, the price is keep going up every year."
"What an awful place. Will never stay here again. I rarely give bad reviews but this one is earned. It started on check in. Was in the cattle line and the person working at check in (first impression) was not friendly at all. Maybe she was having a bad day or needed her cigarette but she should not be in the hospitality business!!! I check in to my "suite" and pull on the first dresser drawer to find it filled with clothes and a prescription for lorazepam. Did we get the wrong room? Did these folks not check out? Good thing I didn't have to worry about my kids finding it because I did first. Down I go to the front desk. She apologized and came right up to remove the items and I asked her to fix a broken drawer which she did. Gotta give her credit where it's due. One set of towels in the room that sleeps 6? Sure.... after driving 6 hours in bumper to bumper traffic, I just couldn't wait to chase down for more towels. Hint for improvement....think ahead and anticipate how many towels the total number of guests will need for each room. This isn't rocket science. We were given 2 keys....yes keys for the room. No card locks at this resort. I didn't think keys were still a thing but here they are. Ok no biggie. I go down to ask for more and the reply to me was and I quote...."This is NOT a hotel". All snippety. At that point, she earned this negative review. But wait there's more. The push button phone from 1965 had a message but no-one knew how to get to. Oh well. And it was the longest vacation ever because the clock in the kitchen always says 10 after 8. Time literally stood still! Why have a clock if it doesn't work? Hint for improvement...Pay attention to details and make sure everything works. Tried watching TV but that didn't work. My husband checked the batteries in the remote, they were good. What could be the problem? Of course, who would think it could be unplugged? I travel often and never had that be an issue to even think about but hey...we're at Mariner's Point Resort! Hint for improvement...Again...Pay attention to details and make sure everything works before the next guest. The one set of towels we were lucky to be furnished with was like sandpaper. They need to go to the local pet shelter. Nope... on second thought....Just throw them away. Pets don't want them either. You can literally see through them. It's the little things that make the difference. I don't want to scrape off my tan thank you. The bathroom smelled like hints of urine. Upon investigation for that, I found that we had a dingy renuzit air freshener right on the sink, standing proud. That must have been the cause? Like who wants that nastiness? I didn't know they still sell them to be honest. We kept the window open the entire stay. The first night of using the murphy bed was true to form...Out comes the pacifier from the last sleeper. Sigh. Just another sign that there is NO attention to details or housekeeping. But.... the sheets must be clean because you have to strip the beds of linens and take out the trash before you check out or you get slapped with a possible charge. No problem with that and was actually kind of reassuring knowing there was a good possibility that the linens were changed out. OH and....If you want to leave a tip for good housekeeping, they leave an envelope for you. It was a struggle, believe me. The owners of this property either just don't care or realize they have a fabulous location and don't need to worry about anything else. You are probably traveling for a much earned vacation. There are many other places to stay on the Cape. Do yourself a favor, Don't pick this one."
"Loved this place. Yes, the room is small, but that's because it's a studio. We went with our two kids, and when the sofa bed and murphy bed were down, it was tight. But when you put them back to their couch and wall forms, it's very comfortable- and how much time were we really going to spend in our room on Cape Cod?! I was able to make meals each night in the room, thanks to the cooktop and minifridge, and the view is incredible. Kids loved the field out front, and we enjoyed family meals at the tables out front. Friendly staff- more on that in a minute- and mingled with some other guests over by the corn hole and picnic tables. Walked to the beach at sunset, took the ferry (a very easy walk) to Martha's Vineyard for the day- the location is fantastic, and while we took a car to downtown Falmouth, you could probably walk if you wanted some exercise. Yes, the hotel is a little dated, but so are most reasonably priced hotels on Cape Cod- and they don't come with an open field overlooking the water, or ocean breezes. For the price, it's a 5 star hotel. And back to the staff- I managed to leave my laptop in my hotel room bureau. I know, not smart. But when I called, frantic, the next morning (since we got home at after 11PM), the woman at the desk said they had it, and would mail it back to me via UPS (I paid for the mailing, of course, but Anna, who is destined for all things good Karma after this, drove it there herself to make sure it got back to me). I am so grateful, as it had family photos and videos, as well as a ton of my stuff for work (I'm a teacher)- and frankly, I couldn't really afford to lose it because laptops are expensive. Loved Mariner's Point, and we're hoping to get back there next year!"
"While it says it sleeps 4, sleeps is it. It's a Murphy bed and pullout couch. Very small. Nice kitchenette and very nice view. 8 minute walk to a public beach. Windy area though so it feels cooler here. You as the guest are responsible for providing your own toilet paper so stock up at the dollar store. Put your towels outside in order to receive clean towels. There is a tip envelope for the cleaning staff, but considering we did most of the cleanup it was a little offensive. Traffic here in the summer is HORRIBLE. On the upside it was clean with a nice view for a good price so I can't complain."
"Stayed only one night in one of the larger suites. The location is excellent- right next to the ocean. The suite was ok- nothing fancy and could use some updating. Had to scavenge around for blankets for the extra bed in the living area, so it would be nice if they left them out for guests. Also, it would be very nice if they could keep the pool open later. It was a nice stay, would most likely stay there again if traveling with a large group."
