"I have stayed at several hotels and rental homes on BI over the past 20 years, and this place was the only one I would never go back to. Very shabby upkeep (not rustic but just plain run down) holes in the walls, weird brown smear in bedroom, pre-used soap bar in bathroom. Several restaurants have their backs to the Gothic, so you hear bottles being dumped repeatedly overnight and thumping music late at night, and smell vent fans from frying food. Don't stay here."

"If your a mature couple, or a family looking to enjoy the island and all it has to offer look for another Inn. If your in high school or college looking to party and drink out side play loud music from 9am-3am this is truly your spot. As far as accommodations there really is none, you do get towels for the shared shower. You may or may not get hot water. I would highly recommend the Marriott in Newport however. Stay far away from the Gothic Inn unless again you fall under the category of getting wasted and sleeping in the lawn chair and not be bothered, then this would be your dream destination."

"Very quite , affordable and comfy! Alton and the other staffs are excellent and aslways smiling. My wife and I have been visiting block island since the early 20s. The Gothic inn has became our #1 #spot! Great place to stay."
