"LOVE the hot food “buffet.” What a deal! HATE that sale prices NEVER come through at checkout, and I have to call Amazon every time I shop for a correction. Hint to shopper: take a picture of ALL sale tags."
"I am writing here today due to horrible customer service at one of your Amazon fresh locations. While trying to make a return no one was at the window. I went to ONE of the only employees (Janelle) I could see working because no other employees were around. As she was having a simple conversation with another shopper who was not checking out but just chatting I waited until she was done to ask for assistance. She proceeded to ask me Dont you see Im having a conversation. I was appalled. Shocked that this is the customer service I was being provided. As I continued to ask for help she continued to question me about the seeing her talking to the other shopper. Is this the customer service Amazon provides. This is disgusting behavior and unacceptable."
"When Amazon also owns Whole Foods I have no idea how they get pizza here so bad. I keep going back thinking maybe they will finally make it better but nope its still like biting into cardboard with melted cheese on top. The only redeeming item in their prepared foods is their cookies which are top notch but its easy to get deserts right. and it should be easy to get pizza right but this location has consistently failed to get it right. Their sandwich bar never seems to have sandwiches in it and the staff here never want to make new ones even when they are out. Ample parking in underground lot easy to access."
"I hate dealing with people surprisingly as an extrovert. This store removes all interactions and while I have some ethical concerns surrounding Jeff Bezos and his business model the tech employed here fulfills my misanthropic quirks. Additionally, the store is well maintained, clean, and what small interactions you have with staff are quick and professional. I also like the quality of the fresh hot food. I will say when I went a lot was out of stock (lots of empty shelves) but I think that's because I went on the wrong day. I also noticed the prices are competitive. An example is a 12 pack of coke at Amazon is $5 to the average area price of $9 so I save every time I shop. I hope this concept spreads to other stores."
"A revolution in grocery store shopping that is worth trying. Great inventory, great prices, and easy in and out even if it may take a little getting used to! Yes, you can fill up a shopping cart and just walk out of the store to your car without ever touching a conveyor belt, talking to anyone, or transacting money with a cashier. It is different, but actually works! This Amazon Fresh features their advanced, “Just Walk Out” technology. It located is in the new Chevy Chase Lake development. It is about a half-mile from the I495 Beltway. Upon arrival, ample signage directs you to park in an underground garage offering 2-hour complimentary parking for Amazon Fresh shoppers. Entering on the lower level, you select your cart and head up one floor via the adjacent elevators. My first impression was - this place is quite clean, spacious, and quiet. Exiting the elevator onto the main level, you will see turnstile gates and scanners… and cameras, everywhere. Generate your in-store code via the Amazon app on your phone, scan on the turnstile, and you’re in. It felt like being granted access to some high-tech, restricted area once the turnstiles open. Grocery shopping itself was mostly normal. The store is extremely organized with each and every item stocked in its own shelf space with exacting dividers between SKUs. Price tags were digital displays for each item. The layout is as you would expect for a grocery store, with some aspects very similar to Whole Foods. To that end, they carry a number of name brand products and a large selection of “365 Whole Foods Market” branded items. One thing you cannot not notice is the endless array of cameras and sensors. Every aisle and shelf is monitored by dozens of cameras and sensors that make subtle noises and clicks, letting you know they are watching every movement you make. It’s a bit surreal. Once my cart was full with everything I needed, I proceeded to the exit which was another set of turnstiles and sensors. I scanned my in-store code, the gate opened, and I walked out! Exactly as advertised. I will admit, it felt like I was doing things incorrectly because it was a very different way to grocery shop. I left wondering how they accomplished to ring up my groceries without actually ringing them up. And I wasn’t the only one trying wrap my head around this new groove as a few other customers were scratching their heads at times, too. Objectively though, it was faster, cleaner, and cheaper than my normal grocery routine. I will be grocery shopping here again soon."
