The Maj Hotel 2225 Spring Garden Street, Philadelphia, PA 19130

"I'm from the west coast therefore, aspects we just assume that are traditional in most hotels are implied here too. That is not the case at this location. Overall, looks like a nice hotel and front desk services are very professional! But doesn't really offer much to the eye, no counter space in bathrooms, no maid services (therefore how clean is it really?), no fridge or microwave, rooms color theme... lacking. Tv is well old not even smart tv, their tv mirrors not even connected to internet...idk if they offer internet. Oh and watch out for those lights, there are at a very low hanging point therefore, shine into your eyes and hit your head in the morning. Cost in breakfast foods are high considering lack of choices. (Considering so many locations nearby that are better and priced fair). There is no private parking or even parking garage nearby. Suppose these aspects just key to being in large city. This location came highly recommended but not for us."

"Cute boutique hotel with such an accommodating staff. We got in very late in the evening so they let us check out late the next day, no problem. Walking distance to the Art museum and Fairmont neighborhood. There’s a gym on site too, small but efficient! Would definitely recommend."

"Reception was very helpful and friendly easy check in, check out process. Hotel and rooms are clean, and “elegant,” “posh,” “impressive” and “fantastic.” Good location just minutes walk from the art museum and eastern state penitentiary. Am so happy for choosing this place, The staff made us feel very welcome. I will definitely come back to this hotel. Thank you so much for doing excellent job."

"Great small non chain hotel located just minutes from the famous Rocky steps. Staff was welcoming and helpful. Hotel was super clean and technologically up to date. Conveniently located close to amenities such as wholefoods, target,etc. located in the museum district and walkable. Bikes and scooters are available in the area for those who prefer to ride. Parking was an issue at first but was advised to utilize a parking lot a block up the street which is very affordable 8 bucks a day. I definitely recommend this hotel."

"Boutique decor without generic corporate hotel blandness. Exposed brick walls, drop lighting, subway tile walk in shower with rain shower head, open closet shelves and hangers, in room safe and electronics also controlled via browser site on cell phone including lighting and automatic blinds. Steam music from bathroom mirror. Amazing rooms! Romantic fee for couples. We easily scored curbside parking across side which is free after 8pm Saturday and all day Sunday. Complimentary glass bottles of purified water is also nice touch. Nice area, safe. We happily took 15 minute walk from dinner at Rittenhouse Square without issue. They own Alexander restaurant which was enjoyed. Highly recommended if willing to be a handful of blocks from center city. Hidden gem!"
