"I absolutely would have given this hotel five stars if it wasn’t for the incident that happened when me and my now husband stayed there for a night in Philly. For some reason my husband’s room key deactivated and he was refused entrance into the hotel for an entire hour. This was around one in the morning . The issue was his phone died, and I was in the room, not knowing what was going on. I realize he was gone for a weirdly strange amount of time so when I went down to the front desk, I was met with all of this hysteria. I had explained that this was actually my partner, and he was a guest as evidenced by the room key. There was no apology. There was no refund. There was nothing. I even followed up and was met with silence. I wouldn’t frequent a hotel that has bias against its patrons."
"I really would have loved to give this hotel five stars but I was really concerned for my safety and the staff did not seem to be surprised. Firstly, I will say the rooms are spacious and clean. The hotel is a bit outdated but everything still works and it seems to be renovating at the moment. The location is honestly perfect, it’s surrounded by everything you need and walkable to many attractions. However, the night that I stayed there, we had a complete stranger knocking on our door at 2am. His knocking woke us up and continued on for ten minutes. When I first went to look through the door view hole, I saw a man with a ski mask on. There was a logo on his sweater and it was not the police logo nor the hotel staff logo. Even after he stopped knocking, he lingered in front of the door for another five minutes. I ended up calling the front desk asking if they allowed anyone upstairs to our room they responded, “No, we will send security over”. I don’t want to assume, but the front desk did not sound surprise and did not ask any further questions. I was shocked how it didn’t phase them that there might have been a trespasser in the hotel at 2am. I’m not sure what the protocol is in general for these types of situations, but I never heard back from the hotel with any explanation or follow ups. It was as if nothing had ever happened and security cameras did not play a part in this. I genuinely hope this is a one off experience but I’m not sure I’d stay here again for this reason."
"This is our second visit to a hotel we’re quite fond of. The lobby is undergoing a major renovation and is closed, which caught us by surprise. All restaurants/bars have been condensed into one room, which is not able to service guests effectively—long wait times for drinks and food and shortstaffed. Rooms are a little dated but in fine condition. We were grateful for the quick delivery of a fridge and microwave to our room, which we needed for feeding our baby. Look forward to visiting again after a thorough renovation."
"Overall decent place. The bathroom was really big and nice. You had a shower and bathtub. We booked 2 twin beds but when we measured it, it was between a single and twin beds. It was kind of small. We called the front desk and they said our room had 2 queen beds which was very much not true. By the looks of it, it is clearly way too small to be a queen bed. The service was not that great. The location was in a very busy street."
"This was a quick business trip so I didn't get to enjoy the hotel/area as much as I would have liked. However, I was upgraded to a suite and it was so appreciated. The room is well thought out. Robes, slippers, shower cap, good lighting... These things aren't often found in hotels. The restaurant was excellent with exceptional service."
