Newfound Lakeside Cottages 89 Lakeside Road, Bristol, NH 03222

"I have rented the main house twice, now (late June, 2022 & late August 2023), for family get-away week. This year we added a cottage, which accommodated my son's growing family, and gave us all the big house for dinners, games & hanging out. We enjoyed fishing from the dock. My 4-year-old grandson caught his first fish this year. We have caught catfish & bluegill, as well as small trout & bass, from the dock (not keepers, but fun). Kayak launching is easy. Swimming is great, on warm, sunny days, via the rock steps into sandy-bottom water. It's shallow enough for little ones to get in safely, and kids & adults can swim out to the anchored platform, or safely swim further out. Sunning is great on the sandy platform, and the fire pit area is wonderful for evening gatherings outside. Large gas grill accommodated all our needs. Beautiful sunsets over the lake from the large windows. Living room furniture and some other things updated this year. Nice spots for hiking, fishing & walking nearby, including some dog-friendly areas. Plenty of local restaurants to enjoy, for various tastes. Convenient stores, not too far away. Room a/c units & fans were fine for cooling. Parking is perfect. If I could recommend one improvement, it would be new mattresses for the beds. They are okay, with foam toppers, , but my wife needs something more firm, due to back surgeries. We solved it by bringing a full-sized air mattress and using it in the loft. Sometimes the spiders get in, which I think is just a hazard of being lakeside, so have a good look around for those unwanted guests before tucking in for the night. The owners are great! Pat & Michael were there when we arrived, and checked to see if everything was okay. Pat offered to pick up anything we might need from Walmart, since she was on her way there. Michael promptly came over to service a smoke detector when a battery was low. I would definitely recommend and return. They are always a text away."

"Stayed for a long weekend in February. House was beautiful, well equipped. Beautiful views from many windows. Owner was very friendly, easy to get a hold of the one time I needed to (for a simple question, no issues) already booked again."

"Horrible experience, the owner was MIA the whole time we rented the main house and there was so many issus! I don’t even know where to begin, the owner gave us a late entry to start with. There were a bunch of diabolical toys in the house which was extremely creepy. Another BIG issus was that we spent a whole week at a lake house with no LAUNDRY!!! How did she expect us to wash our towels from being in the lake for 7 days. How can a house be so expensive and not provid a laundry and have lack of supply! I’ve rented a bunch of houses in New Hampshire and this has been BY FAR the worse house & service I’ve gotten. Do not rent this house it’s not worth all the trouble the owner makes you go through. The house is not up to date & is very old with broken screens which lets a bunch of spiders and bugs come in at night as well."

"If I could I would rate this with no Stars! Horrible experience. Had a hard tie getting through the owner. One day during our stay we lost electricity and took the owner a whole day to get back to us. On top of that we stayed for a whole week and we were unable to use the laundry in the house. Paying all that money and we cant even wash clothes. Owner complained about some broken beach toys, she refuse to give us our deposit back advising that the house was left a mess and some things were damaged, nice trick because we took pictures. Be ware of this place. The house is nice but not worth the view you get or the money you spend when dealing with people that are trying to take your money!"

"Lovely cottages right on the lake with great views. They have plenty of tables, chairs and barbecues on the outside terraces. Great way to spend a summer day."
