"I visited Dr. Rahmat with my mom who was undergoing tests to address some health concerns. During our first visit, Dr. Rahmat seemed very friendly and caring. My mom and I were relieved as she has been bouncing around to different doctors: we were glad to finally be in the hands of a doctor we thought seemed to care. Things took a weird turn during her second visit when my mom had shared that she was advised to discuss a different health concern with her so she can provide further guidance. Dr. Rahmat responded seeming annoyed that she was requesting guidance for a different health concern she has no expertise on. The third visit, my mom once again mentioned that she was advised by a different doctor to discuss a different health concern with her. Dr. Rahmat once again responded with a hostile tone and expressed how she "doesn't understand why she has to discuss those concerns with her" as she isn't the appropriate doctor to address them. While it is understandable that this may not have been within her field, there is certainly a way to express that to patients whose english is not their first language. A doctor doesn't only provide care: they are also there to provide guidance and educate two things Dr. Rahmat did not do. Later that day, we reviewed her notes of her visit with my mom where she stated she spent over 35 minutes reviewing laboratory results and answering my moms questions to "the patients apparent satisfaction." Again, two things she did not do. The appointment lasted no longer than 8 minutes because of how frustrated my mother became with her rude responses. Overall, we are very disappointed in our visits."
"She is an awesome doctor. She respects you and listens to your concerns. She’s very compassionate and I highly recommend her. Thank you for always being kind to me."
