The Capitol Region Education Council (CREC) is a school institution located at 47 Robert Holcomb Way, Plainville, Connecticut, United States. In conjunction with the eleventh anniversary of the Sandy Hook tragedy, the CREC Foundation has established The Ana Grace Love Wins Scholarship in memory of Ana Grace Márquez-Greene, a victim of the Sandy Hook massacre. The scholarship is dedicated to students who excel academically and have an interest in the arts. CREC offers a wide array of programs and services to meet the educational needs of children and adults in the region. Miguel Pabon has been appointed as Assistant Superintendent of Pupil Services for CREC Magnet Schools, bringing over 25 years of experience in urban education. The CREC Council has approved a resolution requesting Governor Lamont and the Connecticut General Assembly to support and fully fund the Student Centered Funding Plan within House Bill 5003. This plan aims to provide equitable funding for all public school students, including those in magnet schools.
