Reviews of NewYork-Presbyterian Komansky Children's Hospital
"Not sure if they hire professional security guards or gang members. My family were harassed and intimidated by the security that work there. Unprofessional hostile environment they created. Foul language in front of patients and children. Disgusting. They need re evaluation or simply hire professional staff. Never going back to this prison."
"I can to help a friend."
"I am writing on behalf of my little sister and her daughter. My niece is a patient there at NewYork-Presbyterian Komansky Children's Hospital, my little sister is going through a rough time with her daughter being ill in the hospital. She has not left her daughters side, and today a wonderful yet amazing staff member a nurse by the name of Joe Makara came in today with his Guitar and sang to her baby girl. It’s the little things like that, that make a difference in what a person is going through. I am all the way in Florida and my little sister posted a video of this Angel singing to my niece. It brought tears to my eyes to see such kindness amidst the horror that’s going on in this world. To see the smallest kind gesture from a stranger brings faith in humanity. Nurse Joe you are a true Angel in all our eyes thank you for your sweet song."
"Beware of the ICU!!!! I had to take my daughter to the psychologist after staying one night here. It's already stressful for my 7 year old daughter to have a procedure. This hospital made it worse. My daughter got a catheterization procedure in this hospital and stayed one night in the ICU. Doctor Holzer did a top notch procedure unlike the rest of the staff members. This one night in the ICU caused my child to have PTSD now. She was crying and screaming about her eye after she came out from procedure. Her eye was in pain for almost 24 hours. In the ICU, the nurses and doctors were checking her eye and told me they found nothing. They told me they've never heard about eye pain after surgery. So, did they take this more seriously? Did they make sure the patient was fine after the procedure? The answer was no. They only gave her Acetaminophen and Morphine but the nurses didn't help much. Instead of having some rest after the procedure, she would fall asleep and wake up crying from eye pain every hour. The nurses didn't seem to care much. While my child was crying and screaming for pain right in front of the nurse that was on the computer, I asked for ice packs for her eye pain. The nurse told me to wait 3 minutes and she never came back with any ice packs. I was getting very upset seeing that there wasn't any improvement in her eye pain. The next day I decided to take a look at her eye and found a scratch. She had a cornea abrasion from the procedure and it was never treated until I requested it. I'm guessing none of the doctors or nurses wanted to tell me about the scratch because they were worried about my reaction. However, it was worse when I found out that I shouldn't trust any of the nurses or doctors at the ICU. Even after we got home, my child went to sleep and woke up screaming believing she was still in the hospital with eye pain."
"Been here twice with my baby and it’s been a month since she’s had off and on symptoms and I still don’t have a answer as to why she has these symptoms. Staff does not work well under pressure and can’t handle rush take extremely long !!!"
