"I thought Passport Health’s nurse at the Stamford, CT location was very informative and did an excellent job guiding me on the vaccinations I’ll need for my upcoming vacation to Asia…"
"Expert advice about travel to distant lands and the vaccines and or precautions you might want to avoid getting disease or sick. Not Inexpensive the vaccines, and not covered by insurance, but the Passport Travel employee we worked with was extremely helpful and knowledgeable."
"This business is a fraudulent business. A basic scam, first when you call, they will not tell you whether they accept the insurance or not, only when you ask they say Insurance "might" refund you, Their aim is to take credit card and charge you irrespective of the vaccine or not. They want all your medical records, to suggest the vaccines that your primary care doctor never suggested for you, when you do not accept the vaccines, they add ridiculous amounts to the vaccines. If you don't believe me, first get an estimate of how much it is going to cost, you will realize their fraud. They told me 75$ per person for a vaccine and when I went there, they were trying to charge me 300$ for the same. Government should prosecute them, Absolute Fraud practices...."
"The "nurse" told me I should get the oral cholera vaccine for an upcoming trip. However, I had to stop taking an antibiotic for rosacea and come back in three weeks to take said oral vaccine. When I returned three weeks later (and had fully stopped the antibiotics for rosacea) she told me that she would not administer the cholera vaccine for medical reasons. She knew of these medical reasons three weeks earlier at my first appointment when she wouldn't administer a different vaccine. Why was I told to discontinue medication if she wasn't sure she could administer the cholera vaccine? Her lame excuse was that she 'just checked' the restrictions before my second appointment. She did an internet search (insert eye roll here). She should have told me at my first appointment or called to follow up that she could not administer the vaccine sometime during the three weeks before I returned for my second appointment. If you need vaccines for an upcoming trip, look elsewhere."
"I should have read the other reviews available on Yelp before going there as It looks like overselling is common practice at this center, but I really did not expect this to happen. So yes, do you own research before you go there AND brief your family members if they go without you to not let the nurse scares them and convince to do all kind of other non required shots. I had taken an appointment for a yellow fever shot for my 20 years old son in view of trip to Peru. He went by himself and could not reach us as we were abroad to validate what the nurse told him...and left with 5 vaccines (2 of which, Hep A and DPT boosters were planned with our doctor the following week and would have been 100% covered as considered routines shots). Total bill of $ 1200, not to mention the fact that he got all 5 vaccines in 1 day! Shame on them. They claimed, after 3 phones calls and no follow up, that they are working in the interest of their clients and go by the CDC website recommendations. We went through the same CDC recommendations with our doctor and had a very different reading. They are working in the interest of their business, not their customers, avoid this center if you can."
