The Goodwin Hotel

"Pros: Valet staff were really nice and great. The room looked nice. Good location near Max downtown The hotel had a good bar and was good to take pictures by the books. The cons There was just oatmeal for Breakfast The room walls are thin so you can hear everything. Staff didn’t seem friendly For a 5 star hotel, it was a bit disappointing. We had better experiences at 3 star hotels."

"We stayed one night at The Goodwin in downtown Hartford. They have valet parking for guests which is very helpful. The hotel and rooms are very nicely decorated in the "boutique hotel" fashion. It seems like a nice place to have an event. The banquet rooms seemed very pretty and roomy when I peaked in. The king-bed room we had was very nice however, like other reviewers said, the beds are uncomfortable! They do have black-out shades on the windows and I always appreciate that. Checkout was at 11am and I also appreciate that. I would return."

"The hotel is beautiful and well kept. My husband and I just wanted a weekend to relax and enjoy each other’s company without our kids, all we really wanted was comfort and convenience. We did not get that. The beds are very uncomfortable and the lack of shower door in the bathroom makes everything soaked with steam. After walking around Hartford and getting dinner we wanted to lay and bed and watch a movie. We didn’t get to do that. The TVs are not smart TVs and you cannot stream anything on them unless you happen to be some of the few people who use androids instead of iPhones. This is the first hotel we have ever stayed in thag does not have the ability to access streaming, it is 2023 and a 5star hotel, this is so insane. The front desk is unhelpful. How a hotel can be $300+ a night and have uncomfortable beds and no smart TVs is criminal. The only reason I’m giving a second star is because the hotel is clean. Don’t waste your money. We’ve had nicer stays at a much cheaper hotels."

"Enjoyed my 1st stay at The Goodwin. It is a well kept, modern with a vintage look non-chain Hotel. I stayed in a King Hotel and my notes I’ve taken away are: - The rooms are very spacious, up kept, and clean. The bathroom was very large with one sink which was great especially if sharing a bathroom. Interesting shower style with no door, only glad lane for separation. Appears rooms were well insulated so didn’t hear my neighbors. - The interior design of the room, and bathroom was thought through very well. Love the hardwood floors in the bathroom and bedroom so no dusty carpet. -bathroom accessories (makeup wipes, and soap) Only cons was the TV channels did not appear, but had most channels. Also the bed was not memory foam."
