As you enter our center, you'll be greeted by a calm and attractive reception area. If you turn left into the Kahurangi space, you'll immediately feel the love and dedication our teaching team has for our youngest discoverers. We take the time to truly get to know each child and their family, ensuring that their care routines are supported and their interests are stimulated through a variety of fun and exciting activities. You might even find yourself in the middle of a bear hunt or using natural materials to create a bear!

Our strong parent-teacher relationships allow us to discuss when children are ready to progress to the next room, planning their adventure accordingly. Meandering into the Pounamu room, you'll witness our curious and bright toddlers engaged in various learning activities. Through sensory exploration, such as water play, gardening, and art supplies, our toddlers not only have fun but also develop important social skills, learning how to navigate their world alongside others. We provide individualized support and education to ensure each child can grow and learn at their own pace.

As you approach the Kawakawa Room preschool, you'll hear the excitement and see our incredible preschoolers working in groups on projects, discovering their own interests and becoming their own individuals. Our Be School Ready initiative is carefully designed to support their next big learning step as they transition to primary school. We work closely with parents and children, helping them develop the necessary skills and attitudes for lifelong learning. Regular communication ensures that children are familiar with the staff and the transition to school is seamless.

At BestStart Papakura, our success lies in the collaboration between children, families, and teachers. We follow New Zealand's curriculum, Te Whāriki, which guides children's learning and development, independence, and readiness for school.
