The Y Massey Leisure Centre
About the Business
Welcome to The Y Massey Leisure Centre, located at 545 Don Buck Road in Auckland, New Zealand. As an establishment that focuses on gym and health, we aim to provide a fun and healthy environment for families to enjoy together. We are proud to be the only fitness centre in Westgate or Northwest that offers basketball facilities, making us the perfect place for families to get active and bond over sports.
In addition to our gym facilities, we also offer a range of sports activities for children, including basketball coaching skill sessions, basketball leagues, and recreational gymnastics. We believe in providing a well-rounded experience for our members, and our dedicated trainers are here to tailor a program specifically to your unique needs and goals. With targeted measurements and personalized guidance, we will motivate and push you towards achieving your fitness goals.
At The Y Massey, we also understand the importance of keeping children engaged and entertained. That's why we offer a variety of activities, such as arts & crafts, games, day trips, and more, during school holidays. We want to ensure that your kids have a new adventure every day and have a great time in a safe and supervised environment.
For those facing diabetes or pre-diabetic diagnoses, we offer a holistic lifestyle program that focuses on nutrition, active movement, education, and community support. Our goal is to help you tackle these challenges and improve your overall well-being.
With over 30 classes available, you can choose from a wide range of fitness activities to suit your preferences. Whether you prefer high-intensity workouts like Boxing Les Mills BODYPUMP® and SPRINT, or the zen of Pilates and yoga, we have something for everyone. We even offer specialized programs for seniors, focusing on functional movement, social engagement, outdoor challenges, and community involvement.
At The Y Massey, we believe in making our programs and services accessible to everyone. We offer opportunities for kids, youth, and families to access YMCA programs and services that they may not be able to afford otherwise.
But what truly sets us apart is our community atmosphere. The staff and members at The Y Massey are friendly and welcoming, creating a positive and inclusive environment for all. We pride ourselves on being a great place for families, with activities and facilities that cater to all ages. "I was welcomed and attended to by staff at the reception. Troydan was brilliant and very understanding. He answered my questions with much respect and patience, even for questions that he didnt know answers to. Other trainers who were at the counter are also super friendly. I have a 3-day trial and today was my first day at the HIIT programme. Megan, the trainer, was very warm and welcoming. She was also very aware of my limits and circumstances in doing the workouts. Looking forward to my second session tomorrow. Well done guys!!!"
"This was by far the worse season of social mixed netball we had experienced with the umpires / refs we had on a regular basis and yet we have played in many mixed comps before without any issues so dont bother wasting $700 to register your team at this place its not worth it. We know this because every team dealt with the same issue but nothing was being done about it (it was like the sport manager couldnt be bothered making changes to resolve the issue) therefore we had to deal with it ourselves at every game. We understand its all social and all but its not fun when you have bad refs. Terrible experience! Hopefully in future if they decide to open a mixed netball season that they will either reduce the registration fee or have proper refs."
"Super welcoming and experienced team and community members. Definitely a well supported place to workout or play in some of the social leagues."
"Very good for kids games. Always tidy. Wish there were more basketball courts so games wouldn’t run so late."
"Great staff and facilities! I used the gym back in high school. When to the holiday programmes as a kid.. joined with the library. Bus stop just out front. Recently built a caged soccer astro turf next to the road"
