Farm Cove Kindergarten
About the Business
Welcome to Farm Cove Kindergarten, located at 20 Galloway Crescent in Auckland, New Zealand. As an establishment and point of interest, we are proud to be a school that prioritizes strong relationships with tamariki (children) and partnerships with whānau (families). At Farm Cove Kindergarten, we believe that trust, respect, kindness, and inclusiveness form the foundation for learning.
We celebrate the uniqueness of each child and encourage them to participate in a wide range of fun, challenging, and enriching experiences. Play is highly valued in our environment, as it inspires curiosity and encourages meaningful interactions among peers and kaiako (teachers).
Our learning spaces are designed to support children's ongoing physical development and natural curiosity. We take pride in our fantastic outdoor play area, which seamlessly extends from our indoor area. With large trees providing natural shade, climbing frames, swings, a sandpit, bikes, water play area, and playground, our outdoor spaces offer engaging and challenging experiences that foster a lifelong love of learning.
At Farm Cove Kindergarten, we follow the principles, strands, and learning outcomes of Te Whāriki, the Early Childhood curriculum document. Our kaiako plan for learning and development by recognizing and responding to each child's dispositions, strengths, and interests, as well as the aspirations of their whānau. We document this journey in individual portfolios and through the online platform Storypark, allowing families to access their child's learning anytime, anywhere.
Throughout the year, we host various events such as Luna New Year, Farm Cove Kindergarten Olympics, Easter, Pacific Language Weeks, Diwali, Christmas, and more. These events not only provide opportunities for fun but also help children develop a strong sense of belonging to the kindergarten. They also encourage whānau participation, strengthening the relationships among whānau, kindergarten, and tamariki.
Our team of passionate and dedicated kaiako is qualified and experienced in working alongside tamariki. Above all, we prioritize building caring and supportive relationships with each child. We respect our trusted position and recognize our influence on the understanding of their world.
Farm Cove Kindergarten is open from 8:30 am to 2:30 pm during school terms for children aged 2-5 years old. We offer 20 free ECE hours with a weekly contribution of $10 from parents.
We invite you to come and visit us at Farm Cove Kindergarten. We would love to meet you and show you around our wonderful environment. Thank you for your support in creating a caring, fun, and safe space for the children in our care.
Testimonials from our whānau reflect the whānau atmosphere and respectful, caring relationships that are evident amongst children, teachers, and parents. Our teachers listen and respond to children's ideas, and the children themselves are settled and independent learners who actively engage in the program and communicate well with each other and adults.
Our kindergarten hours are Monday to Friday, from 8:30 am to 2:30 pm, and our office hours are Monday to Friday, from 8 am to 4:45 pm. We are closed during term breaks and public holidays.
