At ALIVE DOJO, we offer BJJ and Judo classes for both children and adults, catering to beginners as well as Olympic/Elite level practitioners. Situated in the sunny suburb of Devonport on Auckland's North Shore, as well as the beautiful Waipu and central Takapuna, our locations offer convenient access to individuals from various areas. We are proud to be affiliated with Tu Kaha BJJ, Judo New Zealand, and Alive MMA Japan, enabling our members to cross-train at some of the best Dojos in the region.

Our team of instructors brings a wealth of experience to ALIVE DOJO. Brendon, with over 40 years on the mats, is a Judo Olympian and the youngest Judoka to win the Nationals at the Senior level. He has also achieved success in BJJ, winning the All Japans in his division. As a devoted Devonport Dad, Brendon teaches full-time at both Tu Kaha and ALIVE DOJO, and received his BJJ black belt from the esteemed Pedro Fernandes of Tukaha.

Victor, hailing from Brazil, began his BJJ journey in 2010 in his hometown of Brazilia. He possesses a solid foundation in Self Defence Techniques from his coral belt master, Ricardo Reis. Now part of the Tu Kaha and ALIVE DOJO team, Victor considers New Zealand his home and continues his growth under Pedro Fernandes.

Gareth, with over 40 years of Judo experience, is also embarking on his BJJ journey under Pedro Fernandes at Tukaha. As one of our most elite Judoka, Gareth has represented New Zealand at the Commonwealth Games and trained extensively in Japan at a renowned Kosen Judo Police Dojo. He is also a dedicated father and trains daily at Tukaha.
